To expand the rehabilitation bed capacity (from the current 20 rehabilitation beds to a total of 42 beds) by upgrading & re-purposing existing general ward beds & providing a new ambulatory (day) rehabilitation centre.
- To include treatment rooms, consulting rooms, gym, hydrotherapy pool, staff/admin rooms, amenities & storage.
- Steel framed structure with a combination of lightweight cladding panels over a steel sheet backup wall lining.
- The primary wall cladding to be terracotta panels or similar materials; secondary feature cladding proposed to be exterior grade compressed laminate panels.
- Glazing will be selected to provide the required thermal performance criteria & will be predominantly double glazed.
Windows will generally be framed with deep box section powder coated aluminium framing components.
- Roofing to be lightweight colour-coated deck material over a steel supporting structure.
- Plant equipment for air conditioning systems will be predominantly roof mounted on steel platforms, concealed by powder coated metal vertical screens.
- The proposed covered way linking the existing main building with the new ambulatory rehabilitation building will have steel supporting
columns & beams.
