-
The plant will treat 1.3 million tonnes per year.
- All major items of equipment for the plant have been acquired including grinding and classification circuit, Cawse solvent extraction, electrowinning plant, thickners and tanks have also been acquired.
- Other equipment is being custom designed and fabricated offsite.
- Detailed engineering design works of the plant are in progress.
- Finalisation of processing plant flowsheet and confirmatory metallurgical testwork are also in progress.
- Testwork has already shown that the valuable copper, cobalt and nickel minerals are dissolved in acid.
- Once the metals are in the solution, the liquor is separated from the leached solids which are then washed and sent to the tailings storage facility.
- Testwork is confirming solvent extraction design criteria for concentrating metals in solution ahead of copper electrowinning of high purity cathode product.
- The facility will comprise a solvent extraction plant, electrowiring plant, tankage and product filtering equipment.
-
Excavation and concreting works have commenced for the plant.
- There are still tender packages available for the project.
- These are available by sending an expression of interest to Bradley Granger.
- Construction of the plant is to commence when the wet season of 2006 is completed and to be commissioned mid 2007.
- Relocation of equipment is being done by Eureka Mine Constructions.
