Redevelopment of existing Museum and Art Gallery.
- Glass, timber and steel construction.
- Focus on more open space for the public with new terrace-like areas offering different vantage points around the museum.
- The Dunn Street carpark would be transformed into an open public space with garden beds rising from ground level.
- It is understood the garden beds will expose archaeological digs of early Hobart.
- Increased overhead shade and weather protection is a major element of the design which would make the site much more accessible throughout the year.
- The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery is embarking on the construction of the first stage of its master planned redevelopment.
- TMAG wishes to engage a contractor that will be responsible for the delivery of these works within sensitive heritage fabric and zones of potential archaeology.
- The successful contractor will be required to work with the TMAG design team to ensure successful delivery of the project.
- The contractor will be responsible for managing all sub-contractors and specialist trades and may be required to co-ordinate with TMAG?s own sub-contractors as required.
-
