ELF SUBSTRATE PLANT
New project of Industrial (Warehouses, cargo sheds, distribution centres) project at 108 Mulgrave Rd, Mulgrave, NSW 2756. Expansion of operations to increase substrate production levels at existing substrate plant. Proposed construction works include extension to the pre-wet building; 2 additional phase 1 tunnels; 2 storage sheds for baled straw; second bale wetting area; second phase 2/3 tunnel building containing 22 tunnels & a storage tunnel; second bio-scrubber with chimney; other alterations, including conveyors, access, parking & drainage systems. A second pre-wet building will be erected adjacent to the existing building, approx 133m x 45m, on 3 sides the walls will be concrete for the first 2m above the floor and then sheeted with a combination of metal & clear panel above, roof will be clad with metal sheeting, floor of the extension will be of reinforced concrete within which will be cast a manifold of air pipes with spigots protruding through the floor. A hopper at the southern end of the extension will feed a conveyor located beneath the roof of the existing pre-wet building and then outside to the east & north, connecting with the Phase 1 tunnel building. The existing Phase 1 tunnel building will be extended to provide 2 additional tunnels & associated loading area & equipment space. 2 storage sheds for straw bales will be constructed to the east of the existing storage building & phase 1 tunnels. The buildings will each be 50m x 26m, the walls & pitched roof will be clad with metal sheeting except for the lower 2m of the walls, where reinforced concrete will be used, roller door, each bale storage shed will have an automatic sprinkler system for fire protection. The second (east) bale wetting area will be located between the southern bale storage shed & existing raw materials storage shed, bale wetting area is a concrete slab profiled to drain to an in-ground water recycle pit, slab is approx 49m x 18m, surrounded with walls on 3 sides. The east water recycle pit will have a capacity of 100 kilolitres & be fitted with an inlet filter & 2 pumps. Straw bales stacked in the bale wetting area will be sprayed from movable boom sprays using recycled water that is filtered and aerated through the pit. The second phase 2/3 tunnel building will be approx 114m x 73m, building extends approximately 10m at a lower height to contain refrigeration plant, staff amenities, storage & other plant ancillaries, building walls will be constructed of colorbond insulated panels, galvanised metal sheeting on pitched roof. Internally, the building will enclose 22 processing tunnels & 1 storage tunnel with filling & emptying halls along each of the long sides, tunnels are erected on a raised concrete grid floor, hebel panels are used for the tunnel walls & ceiling. The second bioscrubber will be erected at the northern end of the pre-wet building extension. The bioscrubber will be a stand-alone structure measuring approx 22m x 15m, external walls of the bioscrubber will be of concrete panels, flat reinforced concrete roof, water storage tank, chmney will extend from the roof of the structure to 40m above ground. 3 new conveyors to be installed with the plant extension.
