THE O BAHN EXTENSION CITY ACCESS PROJECT
The O Bahn Extension City Access Project is currently at the Construction stage, valued at about $ 160000000 it is REVISED CONCEPT : The State Government has released its revised plans for the O'Bahn City Access Project taking into account the extensive consultation with the community & stakeholders, such as the Adelaide City Council. Changes to the plan include: retaining the existing alignment of Rundle Road; reducing the impact on Rymill Park; extending the tunnel portal 140 metres west, closer to Grenfell Street; reducing the length at which buses travel at street level to 40 metres; removing the barrier between the bus tunnels to reduce the tunnel footprint; & creating an extra 50 car parks on east Terrace and Rundle Road. Under the revised plan the tunnel has been lengthened from about 510 metres to 650 metres, shifting the tunnel portal closer to Grenfell Street & reducing the visual impact. SOUTH EASTERN FREEWAY MOUNT BARKER BALD HILLS ROAD INTERCHANGE
A project in the SA Within Mount Barker. Site of the work is located approximately 3.7km to the East of the existing Mount Barker interchange. Work under this Tender includes the design & construction of the Bald Hills Rd Interchange including the upgrade of the Old Princes Hwy/Bald Hills Rd T-intersection & related works. Two separate options are under consideration for the scope of the works & these are described as follows: Option 1: (a) a full four ramp interchange with new roundabouts connecting the South East Fwy on & off ramps to Bald Hills Rd with service road provisions for Little Dublin Rd (east & west); (b) a new roundabout & approaches connecting the Old Princes Hwy & Bald Hills Rd with a provision for residential access; (c) realignment & widening of Bald Hills Rd with provision for a new lowered road pavement within the current underpass to provide a minimum clearance of 4.8 metres for vehicles; (d) provision of asphalt sealed shoulders on Bald Hills Rd & Old Princes Hwy junction (excluding within the Armco Underpass) which are suitable for use by cyclists; (e) an over height vehicle detection & alert system on either side of the Armco Underpass on Bald Hills Rd; (f) watercourse & stormwater provisions, infrastructure & drainage requirements; (g) lighting (including conduits & pits) for the following locations: 1) the entire interchange (inc on & off ramps, roundabouts & the south eastern freeway); 2) within the underpass (with infrared approach sensors (or similar) to activate during the night); 3) the new roundabout on the Old Princes Hwy & Bald Hills Rd junction; (h) Utility service relocations other than those listed in Clause 6; (i) Conduits & pits for future ITS infrastructure; & (j) Hydro-seeding &/or matting to prevent erosion of earthworks batters. Option 2: Option 2 is identical to Option 1, except that: (a) the east facing (Murray Bridge) ramps is only to be constructed to the following extent: 1) Bald Hills Rd OFF ramp on the south side of the South Eastern Fwy - a short length (3m) of ramp pavement, including wearing course, to be constructed to terminate close to the roundabout allowing future extension without interfering with traffic movements on the Bald Hills Rd roundabout; b) Murray Bridge ON ramp on the north side of the South Eastern Fwy- to be constructed only to the extent to clear the diverge between the incoming & outgoing traffic. To the extent shown on the sketch supplied. Construction shall provide for earthworks, drainage, lighting etc conforming to the requirements of the full interchange, however, with sealed shoulder pavement only abutting the off ramp pavement in lieu of the full depth on-ramp pavement. This project focuses on upgrading unsealed road sections in accordance with the Kangaroo Island Councils Asset Management Plan & the Renewal of Unsealed Roads Program, a venture between Council & DPTI. The Council extends an invitation to Tenders for provision of the 2015/2016 stage 5 works which include an upgrade of the following roads (or parts thereof): 1) Harriet Rd, starting 5km in from South Coast Rd to extend to Playford Hwy - a total distance of 17 km; & 2) Springs Rd, starting from North Coast Rd through to Playford Hwy - a total distance of 24.5 km. The Tender as detailed shall comprise the whole of the plant, labour & materials necessary to execute the works described in the specification & shown on the supplied drawings, including any obvious items for the proper completion of the work comprising but not limited to: a) Bulk Earthworks & vegetation removal; b) Stormwater cross drain upgrade; c) Granular Pavement Construction; d) Verges treatment; & e) Signage & white marker posts as appropriate.
