COORANBONG LOCAL WATER CENTRE
Cooranbong Local Water Centre is currently at the Construction stage, valued at about $ 2500000 it is Construction of a sewage treatment plant & water recycling facility. The proposed utility installation, referred to as the Cooranbong Local Water Centre (LWC), will be operated by Flow Systems Pty Ltd. The LWC will utilise sewage from the future residential area to produce high quality water. The sewage will be treated at the LWC to provide recycled water plumbed into houses for non?potable uses such as toilet flushing, washing machines, irrigation and car washing. The intended biological capacity of the LWC is approx 1,000kL per day. The features of the proposal are as follows: Main water recycling facility within an enclosed structure which also includes equipment & instrumentation for operation of the treatment process. The water recycling facility building occupies an area of 605sq m. The site has potential to accommodate 2 tanks for storage of recycled water, & 2 for potable drinking water. Capacity is approximately 1.2 million litres each, these will be installed on a gradual basis as the development expands. Tanks within the Cooranbong LWC will be interconnected with pipes & pumps & to each other, & to the Cooranbong LWC building. Pumps for potable water & recycled water tanks are to be housed in colorbond sheds. An area has been allowed on the site for a future Reverse Osmosis plant, to be contained within a structure, similar in appearance to the structures used to house the potable and recycled water pumps Hardstand areas.
