13 km west of, Glenden, QLD 4743 Has Newlands Wollombi No2 Coal Operations Expansion Project currently at Construction stage. Development into the western portion (77ha approx) of Wollombi Open Cut Mine mining lease (ML4761). Production is expected to be up to 2.5 million tonnes of coking coal per annum of Run of Mine (ROM) coal for nominal annual average of 1.9 Mtpa product coal. It is proposed to use an excavator and truck fleet combined with a dragline to produce high grade, medium volatile steaming coal & premium coking coal for the export market. Development to involve open cut mining, clearing of vegetation, topsoil removal and replacement, overburden stockpiling, coal extraction and final rehabilitation of disturbed areas. A pulverised coal injection (PCI) & coking coal open cut mine based on an estimated resource of 122.6million tonnes (Mt). The stage 2 expansion project to increase production from 1.8million tonnes per year (Mtpa) to 5.4Mtpa of run-of-mine (RoM) coal for 23 years. Removal of overburden & coal to continue by conventional truck, shovel & excavator. To includes a 30kL/day package potable water treatment plant (WTP), a sewage treatment plant (STP), the 650m x 200m go line area (including office, crib facility, amenities, kitchen/dining area), flood protection levees & diversion of Roper Creek & Thirteen Mile Gully. Later upgrading of feed conveyors, coal stackers, screens, valves & control systems of the existing coal handling & preparation plant (CHPP) to increase capacity from 400 to 700 tonnes per hour (t/h) for 4Mt/y product coal. Extension of the existing vehicle workshop to include 4 additional covered & 2 outdoor bays with aprons. Additional 600,00l diesel & 1.2ML fuel storage facilities. Associated out-of-pit spoil dumps & additional haul/access roads. Possibility of a dragline & associated 200m x 200m construction pad. Later diversion of part of the Bingegang (Saraji) pipeline.
