The works will include construction of compacted limestone pathways & parking areas. Importantly the Tenderer will be required to undertake work to enhance trail user safety & ensure that the project eliminates or deters ad hoc human impact on the coastal environment. Additionally the project will include the installation of shelters, some signage, picnic settings, seats & amenities as well as viewing platforms & terraces at a number of locations. Demolition, fencing, signage, retaining, paving & revegetation will also be required. The Tenderer will be required to undertake the work outside a 10 metre cliff face exclusion zone area & adhere to the relevant safety conditions. The terrain through which the pathway is to be built & facilities installed includes; areas of sensitive vegetation, steep & at times undercut cliffs, high wind risk, working in close proximity to roads, frequented by tourists & limited services in close proximity to the worksite.
