LUNA PARK REDEVELOPMENT
A project in the NSW Within North Sydney. The amusement area is to be redeveloped in 1930s style, a 2000 seat auditorium will be built for concerts. Zoo - Addns project at Lot 22 Bradleys Head Rd (DP843294), Mosman, NSW 2088 In The Council Area Of Mosman of Private. Upper Entrance Precinct. Creation of The Inner Plaza & the Outer Plaza. The Inner Plaza comprises: A higher zone of buildings and paved area for primary circulation, information gathering and amenities, and directing patrons to the Zoo entry and exit. A lower zone for passive circulation and recreation. The Outer Plaza comprises the forecourt area, the Heritage Tram Shed and the various services in the vicinity. Scope of work includes: Inner Plaza - Renovation, conservation and maintenance of the heritage listed Upper Entrance Building, including the removal of unsympathetic/instructive elements. Conservation & maintenance of the northern perimeter wall & construction of a facility building behind the wall connecting with the Sky Safari Upper Terminal. Demolition of the existing information booth, café (former Koala House), Koala Encounters exhibit, Tasmanian Devil enclosure, former Reptile house, block wall & temporary shop in front of the Sky Safari exit. Construct the new upper and lower levels of the inner plaza between the heritage entrance building and the water bird exhibit. Construction of a new retail building comprising a café with indoor & outdoor seating and a retail shop along the foreshore of the water bird and dingo exhibits. Construction of an entry/exit Node near the Sky Safari (Cableway) Tower 8. Demolition & removal of the temporary access ramp adjacent to the Sky Safari Station at the western end of the Facility Building after completion of the circulation Node. TARONGA ZOO - BULL ELEPHANT FACILITY
Paddock/Barn New project In The Mosman Council Area. The proposed bull elephant facility will be an integral part of Taronga Zoo's Regional Asian Elephant breeding program. The facility comprises a Barn (night house) and adjacent external paddock and exercise yard. The barn will house 3 holding pens, an elephant restraint device, raceways, keeper safe corridors, office & amenities & food preparation/store area. The paddock (2000sq m minimum) will accommodate a pool, a wallow, exhibit enrichment devices, containment fences, landscaping & shade structures. The yard (500sq m minimum) will accommodate a pool, a wallow, exhibit enrichment devices, containment fences, landscaping & shade. The proposed new holding barn is a single storey building located along the western perimeter of the site, adjacent to the Gibbon and Crocodile exhibits. The new barn is proposed to be constructed of facetted pre-cast concrete slab walls that are designed with planting pockets to evoke a stylized landform set in the landscape. The pre-cast concrete slabs will be angled and coated with an applied finish that is coloured to assist the building to blend into the landscape. The angled concrete slabs that form the buildings walls will be designed with ventilation penetrations so that natural airflow through the building can be controlled. The Works also involve the design and construction of the handrail to be fixed to western boundary; piled foundation for elephant fence; roof restraint system for the elephant barn for use by staff to allow safe future maintenance of the roof and vine planter; portable and fixed ladder roof access on western side of elephant barn; the precast tilt-slab panels (including physical dimensions, lifting points and texture); the smooth riding trolley system for mechanically assisted sliding doors/gates/elephant restraint device (ERD) that can resist all possible loads exerted by a fully grown male elephant; the hydraulic power drive system including pump, cylinders and hydraulic distribution and control for the ERD; mechanically assisted sliding doors/gates that can resist all possible loads exerted by a fully grown male elephant; the irrigation system; and the sediment barrier on the western boundary. A new and refurbished building complex 'Savannah' with external areas, services and infrastructure is to be designed and then constructed. The zone designated for redevelopment comprises the existing building complex, landscaped and car park areas in the vicinity of the Obley Road entry. This includes the existing Savannah building which houses the kiosk, cafe, function centre, commercial kitchen, shop, first aid room and amenities. A project in the NSW Within Mosman. Redevelopment of the site known as the former upper seal pools. Construction of the Lemur Forest Adventure. A new immersive lemur exhibit with adjoining small forest wall play-through & children's play area. Construction of a central area between the new animal exhibit known as the Observation Outpost. Associated night dens for the lemurs. Construction of a small plant room. Construction of an accessible ramp walkway linking the north of the site to the south. Water has been used extensively throughout the east side of the development site creating waterfalls, water play area & moats. The forest structure is a bridge-like structure positioned in the terrain to take advantage of the variable topography between the forest & the observation outpost. Development of a new tiger exhibit known as the Sumatran Tiger Adventure at Taronga Zoo. Demolition of the existing carnivore exhibit. Construction of a new carnivore exhibit for large cats (tiger, lions, leopards, etc). The new exhibit will include: 3 exhibit areas; interpretative Sumatran village to facilitate learning about humans living with tigers; new aviary, which is to likely house the Nickobar Pigeon and Metallic Starlings; holding dens; containment fences; milling and seating areas.
