PORT BOTANY TERMINAL EXPANSION PROJECT
Currently at the Construction stage In Randwick is a project estimated to be $ 580000000. This project Proposed extensions to existing port facilities at Brotherston Dock North. Stage 1 comprises the construction & operation of a container terminal and associated infrastructure described generally as: an additional 550m plus 980m of berth face at approx 51 hectares of land to the west of Brotherson Dock North; provision for an extra 4 nominal berths; dedicated road access to foreshore Road via a bridge across the channel separating the terminal from the existing shoreline; rail access to the new terminal area by means of an extension to the existing Botany Freight Rail Line parallel to Foreshore Road, including a rail bridge & carriageway; 2 new rail sidings; an inter-terminal access road & 2 additional rail storage sidings parallel to the northern boundary of the Patrick Terminal; reclamation adjacent to Foreshore road to create a recreational boat ramp, tug & support vessel facility; restoration & enhancement of Foreshore beach and adjoining landscape area; and ecological habitat relocation and enhancement work within the Penrhyn Estuary. Stage 2 works will comprise the construction and operation of approx 12 hectares of additional terminal area of approx 320m of additional quay line to accommodate a nominal fifth berth. There are 3 different options for Stage 2 fifth berth: Western Option, Eastern Option & Northern Option.

This type is Shopping Centre - Extension with Private ownership. Extensions to existing shopping centre. Demolition of buildings at 151, 153 and 155 Malop Street. Part of the expansion is proposed on land on the west side of Yarra Street, generally between Malop Street and Corio Street. It is proposed to use air space above Yarra Street for shops and a sky bridge. At the first floor retail level the bridge consists of a walkway, or mall, of about 12 metres in width and four shops extending over the full length of the bridge. The top level of the bridge accommodates a two-way car access between car parks at the upper levels west and east of Yarra Street, but also 90 degree car parking on both the north and south side of the bridge. The external finish of the bridge is dominated by glass, with some metal work, to create the appearance of a lightweight structure. It is proposed to use land at 19-23 Yarra Street for an arcade and shops, both at the ground and upper levels. It is also proposed to further develop the Malop Street car park with a "Big W" discount store and for further parking. Civil work includes widening of the footpath on both sides of Yarra Street, between Malop and Brougham Streets, to provide a pedestrian carriageway of 7 metres, high quality street furniture and tree planting.

SHOALHAVEN STARCHES ETHANOL EXPANSION PROJECT
Shoalhaven Starches Ethanol Expansion Project is currently at the Construction stage, valued at about $ 200000000 it is Expansion of ethanol production facility. The project involves increasing the ethanol production rate of the plant up to 300 million litres a year; implementing a range of odour control measures on site; and upgrading, augmenting and using the existing infrastructure on site. The following additions and alterations are proposed to the existing factory site as part of the ethanol upgrade: the provision of an additional dryer for the starch/gluten plant; additional equipment and storage vessels for the ethanol plant including 3 additional fermenters, additional cooling towers and molecular sieves; upgrades to the Stillage Recovery Plant including 6 additional Dried Distillers Grains Syrup (DDGS) dryers; 10 decanters; chemical storage and two evaporators. The proposal also includes the installation of a DDGS Pellet Plant within this part of the site; & the establishment of a new packing plant, container loading area and a rail spur line. The establishment of this facility on the northern side of Bolong Road will require the provision of an overhead bridge structure to allow product and safe pedestrian movement across Bolong Rd. Upgrading of the existing interchange at the junction of the Tonkin & Roe Hwys to a partial freeway-to-freeway interchange & also the upgrade of Leach Hwy to 'expressway standard' btwn Tonkin Hwy & Orrong Rd to maximise the benefits of the Leach Hwy & Abernethy Rd interchange. Widening of Tonkin Hwy to six lanes btwn the Great Eastern & Roe Hwys. There is also an interchange & road extension works to Boud Av, the local access roads in the Kewdale industrial area to be upgraded, noise mitigation measures, cycling & pedestrian facilities & the installation of Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure. The land acquisition process for the project commenced earlier this year & given the size of the project, scale & complexity, construction is to be staged to minimise disruption to road users, residents & industry.
