PACIFIC HIGHWAY - BANORA POINT UPGRADE

Upgrade of an approximately 2.5km section of the Pacific Highway at Banora Point between the northern end of Barney's Point Bridge through to the southern end of the Tweed Heads Bypass. The upgrade includes:a new highway alignment to the east of the existing route. Existing highway maintained for use by local traffic. Highway horizontal radii within the 600?1,200 metre range. A 6 lane highway with sealed shoulders. Northbound off-ramp and southbound on-ramp at the southern end, connecting to the existing highway route. A viaduct across the southern valley, approximately 360 metres in length. Moderate grades either side of Sexton Hill (up to 5%). A deep cutting with vertical walls up to 20 metres high. A landbridge over an approximately 100 metre length of the walled section. Wilson Park reinstated over the landbridge. Retention of the existing pedestrian/cyclist bridge. Realignment of Laura Street to intersect the existing highway and Short Street at a fourway signalised intersection. A 300 metre extension of Minjungbal Drive, passing below the highway upgrade connecting to Darlington Drive. UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY - CAMPUS 2010+
Law Building - 6 Storey project at 3000 Parramatta Rd, between Eastern Ave & Barff Rd, Camperdown, NSW 2050 in the Civil Engineering (Bridges, Aqueducts, Viaducts). Relocation of Law School from present City location to the Campus, adjoining Victoria Park. The proposal will include construction of a new Faculty of Law building, adjacent to the Fisher Library, including a new 2 storey podium base containing the new Law Library, lecture theatres, seminar rooms and a new Moot Court facility; 3 storey teaching building including teaching spaces and a podium level restaurant; 5 storey faculty building; and light tower. Construction of a 2 level basement carpark containing 420 carparking spaces; secure bicycle storage accommodating 24 bicycles and 47 motorbike spaces; minor alterations & additions to the interface of the Fisher Library Book Stack, Carslaw Building & Eastern Avenue Auditorium & Lecture Complex; use of facilities as a place of public entertainment; landscaping, lighting and site works; upgrade of Barff Rd to facilitate 2 way traffic, loading area and pedestrian access; and extension/augmentation of the physical infrastructure/utilities. The proposal consists of 2 distinct above ground buildings (faculty and teaching buildings) that interconnect with an extensive forecourt area., a 2 storey below ground podium base and 2 level basement carpark (known as the Law Building). The faculty and teaching buildings are 5 & 3 storey buildings respectively above the podium base. The podium base includes the new Law Library, lecture theatres, seminar rooms & a Moot Court facility. Other ancillary features include male & female toilets, pedestrian circulation areas and lifts, concourse areas, storeroom, cool room & garbage room. level 2 of the podium is accessed form a landscaped forecourt fronting onto Eastern Ave. The main features of the podium levels include 4 x 300 seat & 2 x 500 seat lecture theatres, 10 x seminar rooms, meeting rooms & a student lounge area. The law Library is located on Level 1 of the podium with a mezzanine on level 2. The library consists of storage space for books, meeting rooms, classrooms, reading room, toilet & library staff quarters. A Moot court facility on level 2 provides training for law students in the use of electronic court facilities. The Teaching Building continues the height & form of the adjoining Eastern Ave Auditorium & Theatre Complex to the south. The building includes 2 levels of teaching space including 8 seminar rooms, foyer and stairwell atrium areas. Ancillary services include lifts, stairs, storage space and carpark exhaust stack. The forecourt level provides a restaurant & cafe facilities fronting onto the landscaped public domain area. The fade of then teaching building consists of extensive use of glass, steel frame wall with timber operable louvre, horizontal aluminium weatherproof louvres and simple shop front glazing. The Faculty Building (raised academic and administrative offices component) is a 5 storey building. The forecourt level (level 3) includes a foyer area fronting onto the public domain space. The remaining levels consist of lobby areas, offices, meeting rooms, and social hub/common rooms. Other ancillary services include lifts, kitchenettes, toilets and general circulation areas. The building facade is characterised by extensive use of glass, operable timber & aluminium louvres, fixed pre-cast louvres and clear glazing. SOUTHERN SYDNEY FREIGHT LINE PROJECT (SSFL) - OVERALL
Rail Line New project In The Bankstown Council Area. Overall Project - Proposes construction of a dedicated single line freight rail line along the corridor of the main south line track for a distance of 30 kilometres. The SSFL will provide a third bi directional track for freight services, which would allow passengers and freight services to operate independently. The new non-electrified track, 30km in length, within a 36km railway corridor, would be located on the western side of the existing RailCorp passenger lines between Macarthur and the junction with the East Hills Line at Glenfield. At Glenfield it would cross over via a new grade-separated interchange, known as the Glenfield flyover, and continue through to Sefton on the eastern and southern side of the passenger lines. This will require construction and/or modification of road and rail bridges, retaining walls and embankments. GUNDAGAI WEST INTERCHANGE
Civil Engineering (Bridges, Aqueducts, Viaducts) project In The Gundagai Council Area of State ownership. Project Detail Text Construction of a bridge consisting of a 4 span prestressed concrete voided slab bridge with span lengths of 30m, 36.5m, 36.5m & 29m. The wearing course consist of a 75mm thick dense grade asphalt. The abudments consist of sill beams supported on bored reinforced concrete piles. The piers consist of single circular colums supported on bored piles socketed into rock. The voided slab is supported on pot bearings at each pier. Type F concrete traffic barriers are provided on both sides of the carriage way. Activities include piling, construction of abutments & piers, in-situ concrete pour for the superstructure, approach slabs, safety barriers & miscellaneous works. Construction a northbound ramp from West Street to the northbound carriageway of the Hume Highway. Included also will be a right turn deceleration lane & bus bay to improve safety at the existing median crossing on the Hume Highway located 1km north of the interchange. KAPOOKA BRIDGE/OLYMPIC HWY
Civil Engineering (Bridges, Aqueducts, Viaducts) New project at Olympic Hwy, Kapooka Milpo, NSW 2661. This type is Roadworks/Bridge with State ownership. Replacement of existing Kapooka bridge. Scope of works include: construction of a new four-lane road-over-rail bridge on the Olympic Highway. The new bridge would span the Sydney to Melbourne Rail Line about 460 metres north of the existing bridge. The bridge will have three spans, 21 metres wide & 99 metres in length. Construction of about two kilometres of realigned Olympic Highway south of the proposed bridge. Construction of about 700 metres of realigned Olympic Highway between the proposed bridge and the northern extent of the proposal; this realigned section of the Olympic Highway would be immediately west of the existing highway for about 300 metres north of the proposed bridge before matching the existing alignment for about 400 metres. Construction of an upgraded Olympic Highway/Camp Access Road intersection. Realignment of Camp Access Road at the new Olympic Highway intersection. Joining the new road with the existing Olympic Highway at the southern and northern extents of the proposal. Joining the new road with the existing Camp Access Rd. Construction of about 560 metres of off-road shared bicycle and pedestrian pathway crossing the proposed bridge; the shared pathway would connect the Wiradjuri Walking Track to Camp Access Road. Construction of a temporary road east of the existing Olympic Highway for about 400 metres north of the proposed bridge. A large cutting about 18 metres deep, 180 metres wide and 400 metres long south of the proposed bridge. Construction of two large earthen embankment approaches to the bridge, including two major reinforced earth retaining wall structures. Establishment of sediment control basins, drainage controls, boundary fencing and traffic controls. Modification of existing property accesses and access roads. Construction of two hard stand areas for crane and piling activities adjacent to the new bridge. Relocation & protection of public utilities. Construction of highway crossings (rope bridges) for Squirrel Gliders to maintain connectivity. Landscaping of areas disturbed by construction & plantings for biodiversity impact mitigation. NORTHERN SYDNEY FREIGHT CORRIDOR - EPPING TO THORNLEIGH THIRD TRACK (ETTT)

The proposal involves the construction of an additional track (or third track) on the western side of the existing tracks between Epping & Thornleigh. Scope of work also includes: modifications to 4 stations, including construction of new lifts & footbridges. Modifications to road, rail & pedestrian bridges. Construction of a new rail bridge over the M2 Motorway. Construction of cuttings, embankments, viaducts & retaining walls. Construction of new maintenance access roads adjacent to some lengths of the new track. Modifications to the existing overhead wiring and signalling systems. Associated civil & rail systems works. Track work involves the construction of a third track (approximately 6 km) within the Main North Line corridor on the western side of the existing tracks; the proposal would connect into the Down Suburban line just to the north of Epping Station and the Down Main (via a turnout) to the south of Thornleigh Station; the new track would generally be at the same level as the existing tracks; the alignment would be positioned as close to the existing tracks as possible with the exception of in the vicinity of the M2 Motorway where the alignment is located further to the west due the constraints of constructing a new bridge for the third track across the M2 Motorway. Station works - to accommodate the new third track some works are required at and in the vicinity of the following stations: Cheltenham - new footbridge, lifts & stairs, platform modification and station electrical systems. Reconfigured car parking & footpath; Beecroft ? modifications to existing pedestrian tunnel; reconfigured carparking & footpath; Pennant Hills - extended station concourse (northern footbridge); new lift & stairs; modifications to existing footpath, roadway & southern footbridge; Epping - minor platform adjustments.
