KAPOOKA BRIDGE/OLYMPIC HWY
Civil Engineering (Bridges, Aqueducts, Viaducts) New project at Olympic Hwy, Kapooka Milpo, NSW 2661. This type is Roadworks/Bridge with State ownership. Replacement of existing Kapooka bridge. Scope of works include: construction of a new four-lane road-over-rail bridge on the Olympic Highway. The new bridge would span the Sydney to Melbourne Rail Line about 460 metres north of the existing bridge. The bridge will have three spans, 21 metres wide & 99 metres in length. Construction of about two kilometres of realigned Olympic Highway south of the proposed bridge. Construction of about 700 metres of realigned Olympic Highway between the proposed bridge and the northern extent of the proposal; this realigned section of the Olympic Highway would be immediately west of the existing highway for about 300 metres north of the proposed bridge before matching the existing alignment for about 400 metres. Construction of an upgraded Olympic Highway/Camp Access Road intersection. Realignment of Camp Access Road at the new Olympic Highway intersection. Joining the new road with the existing Olympic Highway at the southern and northern extents of the proposal. Joining the new road with the existing Camp Access Rd. Construction of about 560 metres of off-road shared bicycle and pedestrian pathway crossing the proposed bridge; the shared pathway would connect the Wiradjuri Walking Track to Camp Access Road. Construction of two large earthen embankment approaches to the bridge, including two major reinforced earth retaining wall structures. Establishment of sediment control basins, drainage controls, boundary fencing and traffic controls. Modification of existing property accesses and access roads. Construction of two hard stand areas for crane and piling activities adjacent to the new bridge. Relocation & protection of public utilities. ULTIMO PEDESTRIAN NETWORK (UPN) - THE GOODS LINE
A project in the NSW Within Sydney. Public domain works to the Ultimo Pedestrian Network Stage 2 known as the The Goods Line, to create pedestrian & cycle link and space recreational, social and cultural activities. Ultimo Pedestrian Network Stage 2 will run from the rail underbridge over Ultimo Road to Hay Street, parallel to Darling Drive. Public domain works to redevelop the former Ultimo-Darling Harbour rail corridor into a linear park & pedestrian link that will provide improved pedestrian and cycle access between Central Station & Darling Harbour. The proposal also includes a small building structure named The Transformer which comprises flexible indoor/outdoor event space & amenities. The linear park will include the following features: New shared pedestrian & cycle paths. Public facilities including seating areas, bicycle racks, drinking fountains, & litter bins. Green infrastructure & water sensitive urban design initiatives including rainwater storage systems, drought tolerant species & drip irrigation systems. Passive & active recreation spaces including raised turf areas, study pods, & activity platforms incorporating table tennis, children?s play areas & outdoor exercise equipment. Flexible event spaces including catwalk/work desk & the Transformer inclusive of toilets and bleachers seating area. The project is aiming to create an integrated linear park that supports and reflects the dynamic and innovative character of the surrounding education precinct; provide effective pedestrian & cyclist access between Darling Harbour & Central Station; deliver a linear park & pedestrian link that connects Stage 1 of the UPN with the new UTS Dr Chau Chak Wing building & proposed redevelopment of the Sydney International Convention, Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct; provides spaces for a mix of recreational social and cultural activities; incorporate environmentally sustainable initiatives & heritage interpretation. Site preparation and demolition works including removal of storage sheds/containers, waste and former railway items, demolition of retaining walls, kerbs and median strips.The existing railway lines will be retained in situ and predominantly covered with a precast concrete plank system, other materials include recycled site material, hardwood timber, asphalt, insitu concrete and steel for stairs and ramps. Steel balustrades will be used along the wall to Darling Dr and the ramp to Darling Dr at the northern end of the site. The Transformer platform will consist of a mix of precast concrete planks and hardwood timber decking. Multifunctional light poles and columns will be installed. LAKE MACQUARIE TRANSPORT INTERCHANGE

The Lake Macquarie Transport Interchange (LMTI) will be a major connection between Glendale and Cardiff. LMTI will be delivered in two stages. Stage 1 - Road links - installation of approximately 2km of new road, with improved intersections & pedestrian, cycling & bus facilities & Stage 2: Railway station & transport interchange (PID2151960). Stage 1 is divided into 2 sections. Section 1 - Stage 1 involves extending and realigning Glendale Dr, as well as extending Stockland Dr in Glendale; the extension of Stockland Dr provides for a new access to Hunter Sports Centre and Stockland Shopping Centre Glendale, relieving traffic congestion. Section 2 - Stage 1 involves extending Pennant St in Cardiff over the Main Northern Railway Line (known as the Pennant St Bridge) to the newly provided intersection of Glendale & Stockland Dves, Glendale. These roads will create a direct link between Glendale & Cardiff. The works also include relocation of one 66KV and one 11KV power lines, located within the rail corridor. Glendale Dr & Stockland Dr extensions consist of 2 carriageways, each consisting of two 3.5 metre wide travel lanes joined by kerb & gutter, with a 3.0m wide shared path on one side. The pavements generally consist of a heavy bound subbase overlain by asphalt intermediate and wearing courses. The proposed Winding Creek bridge consists of a single span over Winding Creek; the deck has a total length of 23.6 m; the bridge is to be built at the crest of a vertical curve and on a straight horizontal alignment; the bridge consists of ten 1200 mm deep precast pre-stressed concrete (PSC) Super-T girders Click for more details...
