THE O BAHN EXTENSION CITY ACCESS PROJECT
The O Bahn Extension City Access Project is currently at the Construction stage, valued at about $ 160000000 it is REVISED CONCEPT : The State Government has released its revised plans for the O'Bahn City Access Project taking into account the extensive consultation with the community & stakeholders, such as the Adelaide City Council. Changes to the plan include: retaining the existing alignment of Rundle Road; reducing the impact on Rymill Park; extending the tunnel portal 140 metres west, closer to Grenfell Street; reducing the length at which buses travel at street level to 40 metres; removing the barrier between the bus tunnels to reduce the tunnel footprint; & creating an extra 50 car parks on east Terrace and Rundle Road. Under the revised plan the tunnel has been lengthened from about 510 metres to 650 metres, shifting the tunnel portal closer to Grenfell Street & reducing the visual impact. SOUTH ROAD NORTH SOUTH CORRIDOR UPGRADE TORRENS ROAD TO RIVER TORRENS & ASHWIN TERRACE
State ownership Civil Engineering (Bridges, Aqueducts, Viaducts) project In The West Torrens Council Area for New development. $896 million project to include: 3.7 km section of South Road between Torrens Rd & River Torrens (2.5 km of the road will be non-stop travel between Hurtle St & Ashwin Pde). This work will include sinking of 1.4 km of the road below surface under Grange & Port Rd to provide a non-stop route through the area for passing traffic & reduce delays to east-west travel. A parallel surface road along the length of the lowered road to connect the majority of local roads & arterial roads to South Road. A rail overpass bridge over South Rd,upgrade Croydon Station for the Outer Harbor line to ensure the service does not interrupt traffic on the new route. Dedicated off-road shared path for cyclists & pedestrians connecting to other local cycling & walking paths. the lowered non-stop carriageway will provide 3 lanes in each direction in an approx 8 m deep cutting. This lowered road will be constructed mostly on the western side of the existing South Rd. Two new grade separated interchanges to be included at Port & South Rd intersection & South & Grange Rd intersection. New Plans for the 3km upgrade from Torrens Rd to the River Torrens were displayed 28.4.15 & show an exit point north of Hawker St has been added to the motorway style section. SOUTH ROAD NORTH SOUTH CORRIDOR DARLINGTON UPGRADE PROJECT
South Road North South Corridor Darlington Upgrade Project is currently at the Construction stage, valued at about $ 620000000 it is Further stage of the North-South Corridor for upgrade of 2.3 km section of road between the Southern Expressway & Ayliffes Road at Darlington. Work to include the following components - . A new lowered road on the western side of South Road that will allow non-stop flow of traffic from the Southern Expressway to the Ayliffes Road intersection with South Road. A parallel surface road (an upgraded South Road) along the current South Road alignment to ensure all existing arterial & local road connections remain in place & operate as they do now. The extension of Flinders Drive from South Road to Sturt Road will enable more efficient access to Flinders Medical Centre, Flinders Private Hospital & Flinders University. Upgrades to cycle & pedestrian routes for safer movement of people within the Darlington precinct & for improved connection to other local cycling & walking paths. Improvements to the intersections of Marion Road & Sturt Road, South Road & Daws Road & localised upgrading of South Road through Edwardstown. The lowered non-stop carriageway will provide three lanes in each direction in an approximately eight metre deep excavation. The lowered road will be constructed on the western side of the existing South Road. This solution has been designed with he future transport needs in mind; the design allows for connection to the non-stop North-South Corridor when the sections north of Darlington is upgraded in the future. The design of the project has changed in a number of areas as a result of further design development, community feedback and the procurement process. A summary of the most significant changes is outlined below: Extension of the non-stop motorway 1km further north along Main South Road, also grade separating the Ayliffes Road/Shepherds Hill Road and Tonsley Boulevard intersections. Inclusion of a bridge between Sutton Road and Mimosa Terrace to provide enhanced east-west connectivity. Inclusion of a right turn out of Brookside Road onto Main South Road for northbound motorists. Removal of impact on Warriparinga - the project will no longer encroach into the Warriparinga area. Realignment of the Flinders Drive extension to connect to Birch Crescent. The junction of Birch Crescent and Sturt Road will be signalised to enable safe traffic movements in and out of Clovelly Park. This will also provide enhanced connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists between Tonsley/Clovelly Park and the Flinders precinct through a dedicated path and bicycle path along the Flinders Drive extension. Realignment of Sturt Road/Main South Road intersection to retain on-street parking in front of Sturt Road businesses and left turn into Maple Avenue. This will also ensure that the remnant vegetation immediately west of this building is not impacted. Enhanced cycling and walking facilities through the provision of separated, two-way cycling paths and dedicated footpaths along both sides of the corridor. Removal of the proposed new road connection from Flinders Drive through the Francis Street Reserve. Flinders Link - This project will include extending the existing Tonsley rail line to Flinders Medical Centre, creating new connections to the health precinct & Flinders University. The project will include: 1) A 650 metre extension of the Tonsley rail line linking the Flinders medical Centre & Flinders University to the rail network, including 520 meters of elevated single track over Sturt Road, Laffers Triangle & Main South Rd; 2) A new station next to the Flinders Medical Centre; 3) An integrated shared pedestrian/cycle path adjacent the rail line; & Station review. MARGARET DOWLING CREEK INLET & WETLANDS - PHASE 2

The Principal invites tenders from Tenders for the provision of Margaret Dowling Creek Inlet & Wetlands Phase 2 construction management services. The construction management services sought will support the delivery of the following two projects: Margaret Dowling Creek Inlet - As part of the South Australian Riverland Floodplains Integrated Infrastructure Program 9SARFIIP) Early Works, a new inlet to the Pike River Floodplain at Margaret Dowling Creek has been designed & approval given to tender for construction. Margaret Dowling Creek is located 3.5km east of Renmark Paringa. Most of the designed works will be in Bert Dix Park, which is approximately 100m south of the Renmark Paringa road bridge. Proposed construction works will comprise: a) Demolition & reconstruction of Lock 5 Road bridge; b) Construction of a new flow regulator & fishway; c) Demolition of an existing flow regulator; d) Design & Construction of a new footbridge; & e) Reinstatement of high value amenity park land. Plus Wetlands Phase 2 - As part of the Riverine Recovery Project (RRP), a construction contract award for site activities is proposed to commence in January 2016 for infrastructure at eleven wetland sites. Construction Management Services are required for preparation of the construction tender, review of tendered documentation, assistance in tender evaluation, preparation of management plans & assessment & review of borrow pit locations. Scope of Works: Margaret Dowling Creek - A new inlet to the Pike River Floodplain at Margaret Dowling has been designed & construction funding approved. Construction Management Services are required for preparation of the construction tender to review documentation, prepare the tender documents & assist in tender evaluation. On site construction surveillance is then required as part of the Construction Contract, to manage risks including WH&S, cost, schedule, quality & environmental compliance. Wetlands Phase 2 - Construction Management Services are also required during the preparation of the construction tender for Wetlands Phase 2, which includes construction of wetland management infrastructure at eleven wetland sites. New project of Civil Engineering (Bridges, Aqueducts, Viaducts) project at Off Blair Park Drv, Craigmore & Midway Rd, & Pipkin Rd, Elizabeth East, SA 5112. The Principal invites tenders from Tenders for the Design & Construction of Various Pedestrian Footbridges. Playford has a number of footbridge assets, typically where reserve pathways cross creek lines, but also a several significant footbridges for crossing the Barossa Trunk Water Main. These bridges were historically made from treated timber & although this was a low cost solution at the time they have proven prone to deterioration due to weather & vandalism. The aim of this project is the renewal of a selection of footbridges within the City of Playford, specifically footbridges across Smith Creek adjacent Blair Park Dr, Craigmore, & across Adams Creek upstream of Midway Rd, Elizabeth East. The objective is to restore their intended function, reset their expected useful life, & ensure they comply with modern Australian Standards. The benefit of achieving this objective is a safe all weather transport network for pedestrians. Scope: This tender encompasses the replacement of four footbridges within the City of Playford as follows: 1) Smith Creek footbridge (FB_012), 30m upstream from Blair Park Dr, Craigmore: approximately 6.5m long & 1.7m wide; 2) Smith Creek footbridge (FB_13), 80m downstream from Blair Park Dr, Craigmore: approximately 6.5 long by 1.7m wide; 3) Adams Creek footbridge (FB_029), 150m upstream from Midway Rd, Elizabeth East: approximately 12m long by 1.5m wide; & 4) Adams Creek footbridge (FB023), 120m upstream of Pipkin Rd, Elizabeth East: approximately 17m by 1.5m wide. Works shall include, but are not limited to: a) Concept proposal for the four sites; b) Site survey; c) Detailed design for the four sites; d) Advanced notification & signage ; e) Site establishment & clearing; f) Demolition of existing where required; g) Construction of new footbridges; h) Tie-in work to existing footpaths; i) As-constructed survey; & j) Site clean up. Concept development: Prior to commencing detail design, the successful Tenderer ill provide a concept in sketch format showing indicative layout, materials & dimensions. Approval from Council will be sought before developing this concept into a detailed design. Design Services Required: A detailed design will be prepared taking in to account the below design criteria: 1) Design to be undertaken by a suitably qualified structural engineer, with demonstrated experience in the design of bridge structure in accordance with AS5100; 2) The new footbridges shall be designed for pedestrian & bicycle traffic; 3) The new footbridges do not require consideration for crowd loading; 4) The new footbridges are not required for post-earthquake recovery; 5) Design shall consider the effects of dynamic behaviour; 6) The footbridges does not need to allow for future service connection to the superstructure; 7) The new footbridges shall have a design life of 100 years; 8) The new footbridges will be constructed of durable concrete & steel materials; 9) The design life of the structural element must consider the surrounding environment; 10) The desk width from inside face of handrail to inside face of handrail must match or be greater than 2m; 11) The deck must be of reinforced concrete construction; 12) Design bridge tops of deck level must match that of the existing top of deck level; 13) The deck surface must meet the requirements of AS3661.2; 14) The design will take into account anti vandalism requirements, such as secure fixings; 15) The handrails must meet the requirements of AS5100, DDA requirements, & be constructed of galvanised steel; 16) Hydraulic capacity of the swale/creek shall not be reduced by the new footbridge, i) The new footbridges shall consider a flood level of 1.0m (based on the findings of recent flood mapping exercise) including effect of debris loading; 17) Scour e Click for more details...

CAPE JAFFA JETTY REPAIRS

This tender is for repair works to the Cape Jaffa Jetty between Bents 20 to 45. Works are required to maintain the jettys long term structural integrity & provision additional safety improvements for all users. PORT RIVER PASSENGER RAIL BRIDGE REPAIRS
New project of Civil Engineering (Bridges, Aqueducts, Viaducts) project at Port River Passenger Rail Bridge, Port Adelaide, SA 5015. SCOPE OF CONTRACT DESCRIPTION OF WORK This Contract is for the Repairs to the Port River Passenger Rail Bridge currently being operated by the Principal as part of the Outer Harbor line. The Works include the following: (a) Repair of the piles, this requires cleaning then forming & grouting around the piles; This requires: i) Water blasting, removal & disposal of miscellaneous materials from the surface of the piles. ii) Apply anti-chloride coating to piles, pile caps & abutments. iii) Forming, fibre reinforced polymer laminate wrapping & cementitious grouting around the piles. The Port River Rail bridge includes 144 piles, in 9 groups of 16 piles (not including abutments). The Contractor is required to strengthen the critical piles identified for repair, this includes: 1) 39 piles with exposed reinforcing on two corners; 2) 32 piles with exposed reinforcing on three corners; 3) 13 piles with exposed reinforcing on four corners. A Provisional Quantity has been established for the repair of the remaining piles. In pricing this Provisional Quantity, the price must be presented as the extra over cost to provide the extra pile repairs to the 77 non-critical piles. The Provisional Quantity is to include overheads & profit. (b) Refurbishment of the bridge superstructure, this requires removal of the existing bridge deck, repair of the pile caps (also known as crossheads), the supply & installation of a new bridge deck & reconstruction of the rail track. This requires: i) Removal, transport & disposal of; the existing structural steelwork, redundant walkway & bearings. ii) Salvage of the existing maintenance walkway. iii) Repair of the piers & pile caps. iv) The supply of new structural steelwork & application of protective coatings. v) The installation of new mortar pads, bearings & structural steelwork. vi) The installation of the existing maintenance walkway. (c) Railway Signalling: i) Design of disconnection & reconnection of track circuits. ii) Disconnection & reconnection of track circuits, testing & commissioning of circuits. iii) Identify & protect signal cables. (d) Installation of continuously welded track, including: i) Removal & delivery of the existing timber transoms to the Principals depot. ii) Supply & installation of new timber transoms. iii) Removal & reuse of the existing rails. iv) Undertake rail stressing to specification. (e) Other works including: i) Pedestrian Management. ii) Elevated access e.g. scaffolding. iii) Protection & containment works. (f) Environmental protection, including: i) Application of environmental protection procedures. ii) Air & water monitoring to verify effectiveness of environmental protection procedures. SUPPLY OF MATERIALS The following materials will be ordered by the Principal: (a) Welded girders ? The Principal will place an order for all 40 no. 900WB282 beams & this contract will be novated to the Contractor. The Contractor is to inspect the girders & arrange transport from the suppliers factory. The Contractor must complete all other fabrication of the girders. (b) Timber transoms ? The Principal will order 450 transoms & this contract will be novated to the Contractor. The Contractor is to inspect the transoms at the suppliers yard & arrange loading & transport to site. (c) Elastomeric bearings ? The Principal will order elastomeric bearings & this contract will be novated to the Contractor. The Contractor must arrange transport of the bearings to site. All other materials must be supplied by the Contractor.
