NELSON POINT - IRON

ALCAN GOVE BAUXITE OPERATIONS - REFINERY EXPANSION - ELECTRICAL/INSTRUMENTATION
Mining - Infrastructure (Conveyors, Stackers, Reclaimers, Materials handling) New project at Gove Peninsula North West Arneham Land via, Gove, NT 0880. This type is Electrical/Instrumentation with Private ownership. Refinery expansion will increase production from a current 2 Mt/y to 3.8Mt/y in 2007. Proposed expansion includes stockpiling and handling. Bauxite will not be exported from Gove anymore but will be directed to the refinery. Stockpile sizes will remain the same, but stacker and feed conveyor systems will be upgraded or replaced and the refinery reclaimer will also be replaced. Three new grinding mills will be installed to replace the old rod and ball mills. One new mill slurry tank and pump transfer system together with one train of indirect mill slurry equipment will be installed. The heated feed will now be processed in a new high temperature double digestion process. A third low temperature digestion plant will be installed, as well as deep-cone thickners and high pressure pumps. The mud and liquor residue will be seperated in pressure decanters and processed through a train of new high rate washers and a single train of five deep cone thickners. The existing washers and thickners will be used for storage of residue liquids. Some will be demolished. Six new vertical pressure filters will be installed in a new security filtation area to process most of the turbid liquor flow from the thickners. Agglomeration precipitators and growth precipitators will be added to increase capacity as well as two interstage cooling facilities will be installed on each growth precipitator train. Flash vessels and a barometric condenser will be installed using cooling water from new cooling towers. A new hydrocyclone classification system with three classification stages allowing three different sized hydrate streams to be produced will be installed. A new filtration area and equipment will be installed to conduct filtration of various hydrate streams. Equipment will include six drum filters, vacum pumps and air blowers. Three new stationary calciners will be installed in conjunction with new hydrate conveyors and upgraded aluminia transfer systems. A new evaporation plant will be installed as well as cooling towers for vapour removal in the last three flash stages. Lime plant capacity will be increased from 140 t/h to 200 t/h by installing a new burner system and modifying the kiln's internal geometry. A new burnt lime storage silo will be installed. The existing power station will be converted from fuel oil to gas that will involve a new boiler and associated turbine units. The neutralisation plant will include a mixing tank and two thickners in a bunded area. The main activities associated with the development of the Newcastle Infrastructure Group Coal Export Terminal would include: dredging of three berths in the south arm of the Hunter River to construct a serviceable port for the export of coal; reuse of dredged sands as preload and engineering fill for construction; disposal of unsuitable dredged sediments at sea in accordance with relevant sea dumping permits; construction of wharf facilities and ship loaders; construction of a Coal Storage Area including coal stockpiles, transfer stations, conveyors, stackers and reclaimers; remediation works including capping of selected areas of the existing Kooragang Island Waste Facility for the development of the rail spur and rail loops; construction of a rail spur and two rail loops, road/rail overpasses, unloading stations and connecting conveyors; installation of power supply, reticulation and control systems; development of access roads and internal roads; development of water management infrastructure including site drainage works, collection ponds and stockpile spray system; and construction of administration and workshop buildings.The plant capacity is designed for up to 66Mtpa, and will be built in 3 stages with the initial stage for 33Mtpa. WAROONA MINERAL SANDS PROJECT - RESOURCE

PILBARA IRON ORE & INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT - ORE PREPERATION PLANT

Ore Preparation Plant (OPP) is to comprise a crushing and screening operations. The facilities include a screen house, crushers, stockpiles and trainloader. The operation will process ore transported by a conveyor firstly to a portable crusher and sizer located at the operating face of the Cloud Break mine. When the ROM ore has been crushed and sized it will be transported via a conveyor to the screener and crusher. Ore will be sorted into super value fines, high grade fines, high grade lump and lower grade ore. The first three types of ore will be conveyed to the train loading station and shipped to Port Hedland. The low grade will be stockpiled for the future when the Christmas Creek Beneficiation Plant is constructed. IRON ORE RAPID GROWTH 4 PROJECT - TRAIN LOAD OUT
Iron Ore Rapid Growth 4 Project - Train Load Out is currently at the Planning stage, valued at about $ 100000000 it is The new TLO facility will match the existing train load-out plant for through train capacity at 58Mtpa. The new TLO will comprise a new section of rail passing through a single tunnel that has two loading vaults. Each vault is located under a discrete stockpile, each with a minimum 25,000 live capacity. These stockpiles will be product specific, one for lump and one for fines, to eliminate product cross-contamination. Each stockpile will be built and maintained by a fixed stacker conveyor, fed from the diverter transfer station at the head of the stockyard reclaim conveyor (the transfer station and stacker conveyors are part of work pack 4N0). The conveyors will discharge from fixed cantilever booms. Dust suppression sprays will be mounted at the head of each conveyor discharge. The spray system will be complete with break tank and pumps for the high pressure for the spray canon. The TLO will have dedicated dust extraction/collection and ventilation systems for each of the vaults. Each of the dust systems will comprise dust hoods, ducting, wet scrubbers, extraction fans, seal tank, circulation pumps, sump tanks, pumps and associated pipe work. The complete tunnel with the vaults will have a vault ventilation system complete with fans, ducting, discharge registers and intake silencers. The stockpiles and stacker conveyors will have dust suppression sprays. Process water will be supplied for dust suppression and dust extraction scrubbers. CAPE LAMBERT PORT B (CLB) DEVELOPMENT STAGE 1/PHASE A
Civils/Piping Works/Offices/Roads/Accommodation - Stage 1/Phase A New project In The City Of Karratha Council Area. As part of a plan to increase Rio Tinto's overall Pilbara operational capacity to 330million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), a project to increase the Cape Lambert Port iron ore handling, processing & ship loading capacity through construction in 2 stages (phases A 7 B) of new stockyard & port facilities of up to 100Mtpa capacity to the west of the existing 80Mtpa Port A operations. Construction of a 920m long jetty & a 2-berth wharf along with new shiploading facilities. Associated piping works expected to include relocation of the natural gas pipeline feeding the Cape Lambert power station, the Cape Lambert landfill site & a transmission line.
