PORT HUGHES BOAT RAMP REDEVELOPMENT
Sections 1895 & 1894, Port Hughes, SA 5558 Has Port Hughes Boat Ramp Redevelopment currently at Construction stage. The Principal invites tenders for the provision of Design & Construction. The Principal has been working with a community steering party with regards to the upgrade of the Port Hughes boat ramp since 2008. The steering party settled on a design that would balance the requirement of the community for increased all weather access & the impact of the surrounding environment & the associate sand movement. The Principal with require construction services for the redevelopment of the Port Hughes Boat Ramp with consideration given to the approved plan. Council will be looking for tenderers to input their skills & knowledge by providing non-conforming alternative where appropriate, with particular attention given to the construction methods for the wharf area & the boat fender. Other items of note include, but are not limited to : a) The Port Hughes Boat Ramp is restricted by a number of factors including geological rock formations & sand movement to its current footprint. The aim of this project is to maximise the available manoeuvring area & throughput & therefore increase the utilisation & capacity of the facility. b) The wharf area (which is also the dredging vehicle access) should have a vertical wall, with suitably spaced boat stops (fenders) & recessed ladders. The ultimate final design of this should consider wave reflection & pricing should be presented in a way that allows flexibility with its overall length & therefore allowing the project to be completed within its defined budget. Note: the aim of this is to keep the wharf area approximately 250mm above the average high tide level, acknowledging that in winter storms it may be topped & the last 30m forming a ramp for excavator / truck access to the mouth of the harbour. c) Details on construction methods & the length of time where the facility will be unavailable for public use should be considered & documents as part of tender submissions. SWAN REACH FERRY RAMP REFURBISHMENT
Ferry Ramp project at Ferry Ramp at, Swan Reach, SA 5354 In The Council Area Of Mid Murray of State. This tender is for the removal & replacement of sections of concrete ferry ramps. As the concrete ferry ramps are in excess of fifty years of age, some are in need of repair to keep them operational. The ramps have deteriorated due to dry back of the river bank during low water flows in the last drought. The concrete deteriorating with some sections showing exposed reinforcement. Scope of work includes: Downstream Wharf - extract & dispose of 4 decayed timber fender piles; supply & install 4 replacement timber fender piles; remove all the existing 230 mm high x 150 mm wide of decayed hardwood timber kerbing; supply 230 mm high x 125 mm wide recycled plastic lumber (grey) and cut to required lengths to match existing kerb, re-use holes for the M20 bolts, and install plastic kerbs with new grade 316 stainless steel M20 bolts; remove all waler beams and supply and install replacement timber beams (match existing waler beams); remove 2 corroded steel ladders; supply & install steel ladders as replacments; all bent hand rails are to be straightened, sand blasted & repainted; all bollards are to be unbolted, sandblasted, repainted & reinstalled; cracks specified to be injected using an epoxy; decommissioning & removal of existing asbestos service pipe from under the deck; decommission & removal of existing electrical services; design & construct new electrical services to make safe; decommission & remove all existing firefighting services; design & construct new firefighting services; design & construct potable water supply to wharf & repair damaged/broken concrete at front face of wharf (next to decommissioned fire hydrant). Upstream Wharf - remove only decayed 230 mm high x 150 mm wide of decayed hardwood timber kerbing; supply 230 mm high x 125 mm wide recycled plastic lumber (grey) and cut to required lengths to match existing kerb, re-use holes for the M20 bolts, and install plastic kerbs with new grade 316 stainless steel M20 bolts; remove all waler beams and supply & install replacement timber beams (match existing waler beams); remove 3 corroded steel ladders from the Upstream Wharf; supply & install steel ladders as replacements; all bent hand rails to be straightened, sand blasted & repainted; corroded bollards to be unbolted, sandblasted, repainted & reinstalled; decommission & removal of existing electrical services; design & supply electrical connection to the existing light pole; decommission & remove all existing firefighting services; design & construct potable water supply to wharf; supply & install Denso Seashield 100 Series to all piles.
