WEST COAST DRIVE DUAL USE PATH
Civil Engineering (Docks & piers, wharves, boat ramps) project for Addition development. The path stretches 1.8km from The Plaza at the corner of Raleigh Rd, Sorrento, to Beach Rd, Marmion. Works to the path may include maximising the width, predominantly to the east, including but not limited to encroachment & reconfiguration of existing roadway, median strips & eastern verge areas, the upgrade of all beach access steps, paths & ramps within the project area, all external construction materials, including but not limited to handrails, brackets & signage, which must be specified to last at least 15 years in corrosive coastal environment, all plantings & shrubbery within the project area to be local indigenous species, reconfiguration of the sunken path located between Troy Av & Bettles St to include footpath lighting, widening & retaining the dual use path (DUP) to the east & enhance the lookouts to incorporate appropriate predominantly north-south aligned seating. Also to reconfigure The Plaza mixed use precinct site to align the DUP along its current route, construct an elevated boardwalk access to the beach, create a ballooned east-west aligned seating area to the west of the DUP, close the access path situated to the north & remove the fixed shade structure component. To relocate the Ross Av Lookout site to the north of the existing stairs, construct the viewing platform at grade with the DUP & erect a fixed shade structure. Provision has been made in the 2008/2009 budget & future budgets for a six year project to weed, rehabilitate & revegetate the coastal foreshore reserve adjacent to the project area with the objectives to restore its condition. RUSSELL ISLAND JETTY REPAIRS 2015
Russell Island Jetty Repairs 2015 is currently at the Construction stage, valued at about $ 84000 it is Repair works to the 75m long Russell Island Jetty. To include strengthening of selected existing 152 x 9.5 SHS steel headstocks by welding new 150 x 6 SHS steel diagonal struts to selected piles & headstocks. Paint the new diagonal struts including in-situ patch painting after the struts have been welded to the pile & headstocks. Removal of existing trolley & trolley tracks, including all fixings & associated components. Removal of the corroded steel on the selected heavily corroded outriggers using mechanical abrasion & encapsulating all loose material. LYRUP CONCRETE FERRY RAMP REFURBISHMENT
Currently at the Construction stage In Renmark-Paringa is a project estimated to be $ 400000. This project This tender is for the removal & replacement of sections of concrete ferry ramps. As the concrete ferry ramps are in excess of fifty years of age, some are in need of repair to keep them operational. The ramps have deteriorated due to dry back of the river bank during low water flows in the last drought. The concrete deteriorating with some sections showing exposed reinforcement. The reinforcement is also showing signs of corrosion which has accelerated concrete fractures.
