PAWSEY HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING CENTRE FOR SKA
Industrial (High technology parks) project for New development. The proposed Pawsey HPC Centre will accommodate approx 6,000sqm of the 2ha site, situated in the north eastern corner. The site has significant level variations with falls across the northern boundary in the order of 10m. The building floor levels have been set to take advantage of the existing landform to ensure an efficient use of the available land. Supporting the need for high end research computing the 4,500sqm facility accommodates a 1,000sqm computer hall above a 1,300sqm basement. The computer hall is supported by a 1,150sqm detached annex plant building. The computer hall will house a computer system that is comparable to the current world's top 10 supercomputers and will aim to meet best practice energy efficient targets. The Computer hall comprises three separate cells with distinct temperature & humidity profiles. With all super computing systems, a critical aspect is energy usage. The building proposal utilises a combination of air cooling with chilled water technology to meet the significant cooling demand. A public outreach exhibition space wraps the northern facade to provide a strong public presence. This space will display material relative to the supercomputer & science projects by way of both static & audio/visual means. The space will support varying visitor groups including scientists, dignitaries & school children's excursions. The project incorporates a component of office accommodation, conference room & amenities that will provide best practice for internal environment quality, including access to views & natural light, natural ventilation & workers/staff comfort. Federal ownership Industrial (High technology parks) project In The City Of Greater Geraldton Council Area for New development. Construction of a support facility building to include the following: concrete hardstand, carparking for 7 cars, bitumen sealed car park for 10 spaces, stormwater drainage, enclosed security fencing with mechanical sliding gate to be operated by a swipe card, a compacted gravel/CRB carpark with approx 33 spaces for carparking with stormwater drainage & paved pathway to the GUC facility, connection to all services & not limited to electricity, water, sewerage & telecommunications, lanscaping & beautification, also to include the provision of external lighting for the enclosed bitumen driveway & parking area, provision of uninterrupted power supply to support GUC operations while Western Power conducts the electrical upgrade to the switchboard, & to include power to the site. This package comprises: a) Mechanical Plant & Equipment; supply & installation of a new Chiller which will supplement the existing Chiller within the 1st Floor Plant Room of the Central Service Core & associated plant including additional plant within the Cooling Tower enclosure within the MAB at Tonsley including all associated other equipment, pipework, connecting to existing, testing & commissioning; b) Associated Electrical Services; all associated electrical services including connecting to existing MSB within the Plant Room & BMS interface; c) Associated Building Works & Structural Supports; supply & installation of necessary structural supports for the mechanical plant & chiller pipes, all other necessary building works in connection with & for the installation of the mechanical plant etc for this package including any partial deconstruction & reconstruction, patching, painting, penetrantions, fire sealing, & making good. d) All associated design work, shop drawings, co-ordination of services, As Built drawings as required by the tender documents.
