Construction & fitout of the first stage of a new research, manufacturing, warehousing & corporate & administrative facility serving as the new global headquarters for Cochlear Ltd, located within the south precinct of the Macquarie University campus. The building will accommodate a mix of uses including warehouse/storage space, office facilities & research/manufacturing space; maximum storey height of 6 to 7 storeys; & 24,343sq m of gross floor area. The lower ground floor will accommodate employee parking, some warehouse/storage space, a garbage room and substation. This level will contain 1,765sq m of warehouse/storage space. The ground floor will accommodate at grade employee parking spaces. The main pedestrian access to the site will be provided at this level. 3,712sq m of GFA is proposed at this level which will mainly consist of commercial office space and some warehouse/storage and research/manufacturing space. Level 1 will accommodate 3,855sq m of floor area which will predominantly consist of office space with some ancillary research/manufacturing space. Level 2 will accommodate 3,861sq m of floor area which will predominantly consist of office space with some ancillary research/manufacturing space. Level 3 will accommodate 3,861sq m of floor area which will predominantly consist of office space with some ancillary research/development space. Level 4 will accommodate 3,833sq m of floor area which will predominantly consist of office space with a minor component of ancillary research/manufacturing space.
