Building 5 is a three storey building which is built partly over Princes Wharf 3 (i.e. over water) & partly over & behind the wharf sea wall. The section of the building behind the sea-wall is suffering from settlement, which has resulted in cracking & movement of internal walls & floors, particularly at the western end of the building. The settlement has been monitored for a number of years & now requires permanent repair to ensure ongoing building amenity to the CSIRO. The CSIRO intends to repair the existing floor & walls of the building to their original condition. The repair works will be located on the ground floor of the existing Building 5 located at 3-4 Castray Esplanade, Battery Point, Tasmania 7004. Click for more details...
