Landscaping Works - Contouring/Turf Supply & Install New project In The Port Adelaide Enfield Council Area. The Principal invites tenders for a Preferred Contractor for Supply & Installation for the upgrade of the playing surface at the Port Adelaide Rugby Ground, Baynes Pl, Port Adelaide. The Principal is looking to improve the quality of the playing surface at the Port Adelaide Rugby Club by improving surface contours & improving the turf quality. Background & Observations: 1) The ground occupies approx. 8,400m2 & is currently used for rugby during winter, with no formal use during the summer; 2) The pitch site is a reclaimed rubbish tip - no detailed knowledge of reclamation date, but believed to be in excess of 20 years ago; 3) Root zone believed to be approximately 300mm deep, although inconsistent in depth; 4) Irrigation system upgraded approximately 10 years ago; 5) Base coverage of kikuyu, with areas of Poa annua, rye grass, tall fescue & assorted weed species; 6) Surface very undulating, with isolated areas of sharp depressions; a) Subsidence of the surface is reportedly an ongoing occurrence, with previous endeavours to correct the surface levels thwarted by further subsidence; b) Depressions are typically 40-75mm deep over less than a 5m diameter; c) Some more severe, smaller depressions appear to result from wear; & d) Undulations promote water being held on the playing surface in low lying areas. The works covered by this section of the specification comprise the undertaking of the work outlined, including location & protection of irrigation heads, stripping & removal of existing turf, supply & blending of compatible root zone material, trimming to agreed levels, & supply & installation of new turf. As part of the Councils ongoing capital works associated with delivery of community improvements to the local amenities & with the purpose of providing outdoor trails & improving community integration / interconnectivity across the township of Normanville, Council is proposing to build a new pedestrian foot bridge in the existing Bungala Road & Carrickaling Road Normanville South Australia. Scope of Works: A) Without limiting the generality of the General Conditions of Contract (AS2124) & except as otherwise expressly provided herein the Contract & specification documentation, the successful Contractor shall provide the following deliverables but not limited to; all necessary design & shop fabrication detail drawings, plant & equipment, project & construction management, labour, supervision, supply, fabrication, surface treatment, installation, support services & consultants, surveying, testing, inspection & quality control, warehousing, transportation, site office & ablution facilities, storage, security, insurances, permits, taxes, etc deemed necessary for the total & safe delivery of the works. D) The Contractors scope of work shall include but not be limited to the following: (a) Design & Shop Detailing - completion of all shop detail / fabrication drawings for the bridge steelwork, hand-railing & Cosset EverDeck decking material which includes the design & detailing of all connection details for the structural steel / hand-railing / decking, night light posts, crane lifting points, temporary assembly supports, etc; (b) Bridge Concrete Works - supply & install all concrete works associated with the bridge?s abutments walls, intermediate pier footings, sumps, spoon drains; (c) Pedestrian Bridge - supply, fabricate, surface protect, transport & installation of all bridge structural steelwork, support columns, bracing, hand-railing & plastic wood composite decking for the bridge; (d) General Earthworks - all earthworks, pier works, trenching, excavations, supply & installation of blinding materials / back fill materials, placement & compaction, load, cart away to waste surplus / spoils which cannot be re-used behind abutment walls, rock breaking, preparation of foundation bases, supply / installation & compaction of specified fill material behind abutment / retaining walls, placement & levelling of loam cover across new & disturbed areas include seeding with a general purpose replacement lawn, stormwater drains pits & associated pipes; (e) Block Retaining Wall - supply & installation of block retaining wall located in-front of the bridge?s western abutment wall including protection hand-railing including supply & installation of concrete strip footing to support the retaining wall & placement of aggregate filler materials & agridrain; (f) Pedestrian & Bicycle Trails - supply & installation of dual use pedestrian & bicycle trails comprising of; (i) Trails located on norther side of the bridge having approx. chainage length 35 mtrs; & (ii) Trails located on southern side of the bridge having approx. chainage length 185 mtrs.
