WASTE OIL TANK FARM & PRE-TREATMENT FACILITY
Tank Farm/Pretreatment Facility project at not yet detemined, Bomen, NSW 2650 In The Council Area Of Wagga Wagga of Private. Construction of a facility to store & initially treat used lubrication oil, prior to the oil being refined at the facility on the existing site. The wasted oil tank farm will be located at the rear of the existing refinery & tank farm & is expected to occupy an area of around 3000-4000sq m. The tank farm will comprise of approximately 8 tanks of 55kL to 555kL in size holding a total of 905kL or 815 tonnes of waste oil. MANILDRA PARK BULK LIQUIDS STORAGE & BIODIESEL PRODUCTION FACILITY
Currently at the Construction stage In Newcastle is a project estimated to be $ 32000000. This project Construction and operation of a marine fuel storage and distribution, and biodiesel production facility and associated infrastructure. The proposal will be undertaken in 3 distinct phases. Phase 1 involves refurbishing the 2 existing storage tanks, construction of pipeline & operating fuel receival & distribution facilities at the berth, construction of a road tanker loading bay & construction of amenities & service buildings. Under this phase the storage capacity is approx 51 ML. Phase 2 involves the construction of 3 additional fuel storage tanks. Associated with the increased storage capacity, is an increase in distribution volumes to service local land based bulk diesel users. Under this phase, the storage capacity is increased by approx 9 ML, taking the total storage capacity to approx 60 ML. Phase 3 involves the construction of a biodiesel production facility with a production capacity of approx 60 ML per year. The distribution of biodiesel will utilise the marine & road distribution infrastructure constructed as part of Phase 1. SHELL CLYDE REFINERY HYDRODESULPHURISATION (HDS) UNIT
Hydrodesulphurisation Unit - Upgrade project at Shell Refinery, Durham St, Rosehill, NSW 2142 In The Council Area Of Parramatta of Private. Upgrading of the existing Shell Clyde hydrodesulphurisation unit to reduce sulphur content in diesel from 50ppm to 10ppm. The upgraded HDS unit is expected to achieve similar production rates while producing diesel with only 10ppm of sulphur content in compliance with the federal legislation with adequate light cycle oil processing capabilities. New equipment would be installed as part of the proposal. This new equipment would include: new additional reactor approximately 1.5 times the size of the existing reactor; catalyst fill; quench oil system/pump; flare header (if necessary); feed and product analysers; new spare fresh gas compressor; new spare feed pump; and reactor cool down facilities. In addition, the proposal would involve the demolition of some existing, redundant components of the HDS Unit, including: 1 old reactor (idle since 2002); 1 old furnace stack; (idle since 2002); 1 old furnace (idle since 2002); and old reciprocating compressors and associated motors. Construction activities would include the following scope of works: demolition of equipment using qualified contractors; on site works to prepare foundations, and where practical, provide ?tie-in? points for new process equipment; off site works (at equipment fabricators and/or contractors) to construct the new reactor, piping, catalyst, pumps, compressors and other instrumentation with an intent to maximise the amount of off site pre-fabrication; transportation of reactor and other equipment to site and installation of this onto its foundations; connection of new reactor section equipment to the existing process at the ?tie in? points; and final connection of spare equipment and advanced control and analyses. INTEGRATED OIL SEED PROCESSING & BIODIESEL FACILITY
Seed Crushing Facility/Biodiesel Plant New project In The Wagga Wagga Council Area. Proposed construction of an oil seed crushing facility & biodiesel plant. The plant will utilise approx 165,000 tonnes of oil seed per annum & produce 25,000 tonnes of edible oil, 100,000 tonnes of meal & 75 million litres of biodiesel. Construction of an integrated oilseed processing & biodiesel facility. The plant would use canola and safflower seed as raw material to produce vegetable oil, from which bio-diesel is manufactured through a process known as trans-esterification. It is envisaged that the integrated plant would produce up to 75 ML of bio-diesel per annum using 165 000 tonnes of oilseed. The development includes the following proposed facilities: Oilseed Crushing Plant. The oilseed crushing equipment would be housed in a steel building with a concrete floor. The footprint of the building would be approximately 48m x 20m. The plant would have the capacity to process some 500 tonnes per day (TPD) of oil seed and produce around 100 TPD of expelled oil and about 400 TPD of oil cake. Solvent Extraction Plant. The solvent extraction equipment would be housed in a steel building without walls. It would have a concrete floor and a footprint of approximately 30m x 12m. The use of hexane in the building would make it a hazardous area. The facility would have the capacity to process about 400 TPD of oil cake, some 100 TPD of solvent extracted oil and around 300 TPD of de-oiled cake. Meal Blending Shed. This would be an enclosed steel building with a footprint of approximately 12m x 8m. De-oiled meal from the solvent extraction building would be conditioned by mixing it with produced gum and adjusting the moisture content of the meal. Vegetable Oil Refinery. The oil refining equipment would be housed in an enclosed building with a concrete floor and a footprint of approximately 20 m x 18m. The refinery would have the capacity to process some 200 TPD of expelled oil or solvent extracted oil. Biodiesel Plant. The bio-diesel plant would comprise an open building with a footprint of approximately 25m x 15m. The area would be treated as hazardous due to the use of methanol as a solvent. The plant would have the capacity to produce some 6.25 ML of bio-diesel per month. Weighbridge. A weighbridge would be installed near the main access point of the plant to weigh all raw material, chemicals, products and by-products. It would be fully automated to handle semitrailer and B-double vehicles up to 90 T. Storage. Oilseed would be stored in six steel silos, each with the capacity to store around 3 300 T. The silos would be gas tight to allow for fumigation and would have an aeration system. Each silo would also have temperature and level monitoring equipment installed. From the silos, the oilseed would be conveyed to two day bins from which the crushing plant is supplied. This would occur at a controlled rate of around 20 ? 40 tonnes per hour (TPH). De-oiled meal would initially be stored in day bins and then conveyed to the meal storage shed or loaded directly onto trucks. The meal storage shed would have the capacity to store some 3000 T of meal. Meal from the shed would be loaded onto trucks by a front end loader. Vegetable Oil Storage. Six vertical cylindrical tanks with flat floors and conical roofs would be installed to store the refined canola and safflower separately. Each tank would have a nominal capacity of 500 KL and have steam heating coils installed to maintain the temperature at approximately 50°C. Two tanks of some 240 KL capacity would be constructed to store procured palm oil. Biodiesel Storage. Biodiesel would be stored in four day tanks of nominal 110 KL capacity and three bulk storage tanks of nominal 1 370 KL capacity. These storage tanks would have nitrogen blanketing. Biodiesel would be pumped to road tankers from these tanks for dispatch by road. Click for more details...

SHOALHAVEN STARCHES ETHANOL EXPANSION PROJECT
Shoalhaven Starches Ethanol Expansion Project is currently at the Construction stage, valued at about $ 200000000 it is Expansion of ethanol production facility. The project involves increasing the ethanol production rate of the plant up to 300 million litres a year; implementing a range of odour control measures on site; and upgrading, augmenting and using the existing infrastructure on site. The following additions and alterations are proposed to the existing factory site as part of the ethanol upgrade: the provision of an additional dryer for the starch/gluten plant; additional equipment and storage vessels for the ethanol plant including 3 additional fermenters, additional cooling towers and molecular sieves; upgrades to the Stillage Recovery Plant including 6 additional Dried Distillers Grains Syrup (DDGS) dryers; 10 decanters; chemical storage and two evaporators. The proposal also includes the installation of a DDGS Pellet Plant within this part of the site; & the establishment of a new packing plant, container loading area and a rail spur line. The establishment of this facility on the northern side of Bolong Road will require the provision of an overhead bridge structure to allow product and safe pedestrian movement across Bolong Rd. Development and operation of a bulk liquid fuel storage facility, comprising development of a tank farm with capacity to store diesel and biodiesel liquid fuel products; use of an existing ship berthing facility (Berth M4) to receive diesel fuel by sea; development of a pipeline to transport diesel fuel from this berthing facility to the tank farm; use of the existing road network to receive biofuels and to dispatch diesel and biodiesel; and development of ancillary services and infrastructure, including internal roads. excavation of areas for tank foundations; construction of reinforced concrete bund walls; preparation of the bund floor (excavation, backfilling with crushed rock, installation of liner, additional backfilling with crushed rock and priming/sealing); installation and diversion of services and infrastructure, including stormwater drainage lines; construction of internal roadways (excavation, compacting of road base; pouring of concrete pavement (reinforced) for main driveway; construction of a pipeline on existing supports to transfer materials between the berth and the storage facility; and - construction vehicle movements. Much of the material would be prefabricated and installed on site, particularly fuel facility components, thereby minimising the construction activities required on site. Proposed site structures include: 3 x diesel storage tanks (38 m diameter and 18 m high); 1 x biodiesel storage tank (8 m diameter and 12 m high); 1 x additive tank (3 m diameter x 6 m long); 1 x slops tank (2.6 m diameter x 4.5 m long); office and amenities (16 m x 9 m and 4 m high); truck loading gantry (33.5 m x 16.5 m and 6.5 m high); fire water storage tank (10.5 m diameter and 8.5 m high); firepump building (15.5 m x 5 m and 5.5 m high); workshop and MCC (10 m x 9 m and 5 m high).
