PORT HUGHES BOAT RAMP REDEVELOPMENT
Sections 1895 & 1894, Port Hughes, SA 5558 Has Port Hughes Boat Ramp Redevelopment currently at Construction stage. The Principal invites tenders for the provision of Design & Construction. The Principal has been working with a community steering party with regards to the upgrade of the Port Hughes boat ramp since 2008. The steering party settled on a design that would balance the requirement of the community for increased all weather access & the impact of the surrounding environment & the associate sand movement. The Principal with require construction services for the redevelopment of the Port Hughes Boat Ramp with consideration given to the approved plan. Council will be looking for tenderers to input their skills & knowledge by providing non-conforming alternative where appropriate, with particular attention given to the construction methods for the wharf area & the boat fender. Other items of note include, but are not limited to : a) The Port Hughes Boat Ramp is restricted by a number of factors including geological rock formations & sand movement to its current footprint. The aim of this project is to maximise the available manoeuvring area & throughput & therefore increase the utilisation & capacity of the facility. b) The wharf area (which is also the dredging vehicle access) should have a vertical wall, with suitably spaced boat stops (fenders) & recessed ladders. The ultimate final design of this should consider wave reflection & pricing should be presented in a way that allows flexibility with its overall length & therefore allowing the project to be completed within its defined budget. Note: the aim of this is to keep the wharf area approximately 250mm above the average high tide level, acknowledging that in winter storms it may be topped & the last 30m forming a ramp for excavator / truck access to the mouth of the harbour. c) Details on construction methods & the length of time where the facility will be unavailable for public use should be considered & documents as part of tender submissions. PIRIE RIVER CIVIL WORKS
Civil Engineering (Retaining walls, Seawalls) project at Pirie River, Port Pirie, SA 5540 for New. The Principal invites tenders from Tenderers for the dredging of Pirie River & construction of a rock wall. This request for tender is for all works, reasonably expected & required, to complete the design, approvals & construction for the elements identified above in accordance with guidelines & specifications included within the supplied documentation. 1) There is an area identified for dredging from the end of the launching ramp to the northern end of Fisherman's jetty. The estimated volume of material to be dredged within this area is 5,500m3 which would provide a water depth of 1.5 metres at zero tidal datum, this will ensure larger vessels such as the SES & commercial fishing boats will have sufficient depth of water to launch even at low tide. 2) Construction of a rock wall will be required to provide for placement & storage of the dredged material between the existing boat ramp & the John Pirie Bridge. Once the dredged material has been placed in this area with adequate capping the final height is intended to be 3.0 metres AHD. This is slightly below the walkway on the north side of the boat ramp car park area. 3) The reclaimed area will be landscaped with a new picnic shelter & furniture proposed to be installed. 4) In order to further enhance the boat launching facilities, it is proposed to construct a proper rigging area for easier manoeuvring for boat users. The proposed location of this area is on the western side of the boat ramp area. The area will need to be raised to the specific height & retained with rock protection. 5) It is also proposed to increase the capacity of the boat launching facilities by constructing an additional ramp. 6) In order to provide better connection to the water, it is proposed to construct a 2m wide timber boardwalk along the concrete levee for approximately 100m. ALDINGA BEACH BOAT RAMP BOARDWALK
A project in the SA Within Onkaparinga. The Principal invites tenders from Tenderers for the provision of the Design, Certification & Construction of a new Boardwalk at the Aldinga Beach Boat Ramp. The existing access path linking the shared use path & the Aldinga Beach boat ramp carpark does not comply with shared use path standards & guidelines, is past its useful life & is in need of replacement. A new timber boardwalk will provide safer access, control pedestrian movement & improve access to & from the Esplanade to the Aldinga Beach boat ramp & the beach. Scope of Work Generally: In summary the items below are for demolition, supply & installation of approximately 149 metres of 1.5m high brush fence with approximately 47 metres of concrete retaining wall - 1) Demolish approx. 149m of existing brush fence with fence posts. Take all material not to be used away from site & dump. (Tender to include dump fees); 2) Demolish approx. 47 m of existing damaged concrete plinth. Pull out old concrete & take away from site & dump. (Tender to include dump fees); 3) Supply & install approx. 47m of concrete retaining wall using 26 Mpa concrete, approx. 500-550mm high by 190mm wide retaining wall using 4 by 6mm diameter reinforcing rods; 4) Approximately 102m of existing concrete plinth wall to be patched up with render in various places along the fence line to give a neat & tidy appearance; 5) Supply & install approx. 149m of 1.5m high brush fencing with a colourbond capping (colour to be confirmed). KENNEDY AVENUE RETAINING WALL WORKS
Kennedy Ave (between Jubilee Hwy & Berrigan Court), Mount Gambier, SA 5290 Has Kennedy Avenue Retaining Wall Works currently at Construction stage. The Principal invites tenders for the provision of asbestos removal & repairs to the existing concrete crib walls on Kennedy Avenue (Jubilee Hwy to Berrigan Ct), Mount Gambier. The crib walls are located approximately 1.0 m behind the east & west kerbing of Kennedy Ave & range in height from 0.3 m up to 3.2 m. The west wall is approximately 110 m in length & the east wall is approximately 145 m in length. The concrete crib walls were constructed over 40 years ago using modular concrete crib wall units with an asbestos sheet placed behind the wall between each spreader in order to retain the backfill material. The wall is in reasonable condition however there are some broken precast sections that will need to be replaces as part of this work. Council is expecting that all except the broken sections of the wall units will be able to be utilised in rebuilding the wall back to its original appearance once the asbestos has been removed. NORMANVILLE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE & SHARED USE TRAIL
Normanville Pedestrian Bridge & Shared Use Trail is currently at the Construction stage, valued at about $ 800000 it is The township of Normanville is located in the south coastal region of South Australia within the precinct of Yankalilla Council. As part of the Councils ongoing capital works associated with delivery of community improvements to the local amenities & with the purpose of providing outdoor trails & improving community integration / interconnectivity across the township of Normanville, Council is proposing to build a new pedestrian foot bridge in the existing Bungala Road & Carrickaling Road Normanville South Australia. Scope of Works: A) Without limiting the generality of the General Conditions of Contract (AS2124) & except as otherwise expressly provided herein the Contract & specification documentation, the successful Contractor shall provide the following deliverables but not limited to; all necessary design & shop fabrication detail drawings, plant & equipment, project & construction management, labour, supervision, supply, fabrication, surface treatment, installation, support services & consultants, surveying, testing, inspection & quality control, warehousing, transportation, site office & ablution facilities, storage, security, insurances, permits, taxes, etc deemed necessary for the total & safe delivery of the works. B) The Contractor shall, unless the Contract expressly provides otherwise, supply at the Contractor?s cost & expense everything necessary for the proper completion of the works & perform all obligations under the Contract. CRAFERS BIKEWAY RETAINING WALL REMEDIATION
New project of Civil Engineering (Retaining walls, Seawalls) project at South Eastern Fwy (approx 221m south of Gill Tce), Mount Osmond, SA 5064. The Principal invites tenders for the remediation of the wobbly crib wall on the Crafers Bikeway. Recent wet winter has compromised existing 165m of timber crib wall on South Eastern Freeway up-track (South Bound Carriageway) bikeway approximately 221m south of Gill Terrace, Mt Osmond. The work under the Contract consists of construction of a heavy duty architectural concrete retaining wall in front of the existing wobbly timber crib wall. Works include; (a) Establish appropriate construction methodology. (b) Undertake appropriate dial before you dig assessment. (c) Establish & implement appropriate traffic management plan & controls for public safety & construction access & egress. (d) Set out wall profile incorporating the design parameters to accommodate sloping ground & provide an aesthetic pleasing transition. (e) Demolition of existing spoon drain at post locations. (f) Excavate posts minimum 1m embedment into anticipated rock. Rock excavation is to be incorporated in your submission. (g) Position & concrete columns according to the panel/sleeper configuration adopted & reinstate spoon drain profile for drainage requirements. (h) Provide nominated concrete sleeper retaining wall sample for approval and quality control assessment. (i) Alternate full panel precast concrete unit may be accepted. (j) Place Heavy Duty architectural concrete sleeper/panel units. (k) Backfill retaining wall with free draining 20mm screening. (l) Clean up site after construction. Key criteria is to make the existing wall safe & minimise disruption to the bikeway making due consideration to; (m) Time - complete the works within 8 weeks. (n) Stability ? a solution that minimises the impact on the existing wall. (o) Public Safety ? the bikeway is the only main access to Mount Lofty/Crafers hills routes & access needs to be maintained. The bikeway must remain open to users during construction. It can be closed only for short periods of time for example moving machinery. (p) Quality of Workmanship ? whilst the solution is engineering focused, one that enhances and does not detract from the surroundings is important. The Principal invites tenders for provision of the following: Description of Works: The recent wet winter has compromised sections of road embankments on Gorge Road. The Contract is divided into separate portions to account for the different construction considerations & their distance apart. Separate Portion A: A scour has occurred below the road embankment located at MM184 on Gorge Road, approximately 800m North of Torrens Hill Road (Site 3). The scour was caused by a high river level in the adjacent River Torrens. Gabions must be constructed to retain the road & shotcrete must be placed to repair minor erosion. Access along Gorge Road to the public must be retained with minimum one lane open under contra-flow. The Contractor is to minimise environmental impacts to the River Torrens which includes machinery in the river bed. Separate Portion B: Sites 1 & 2 are located at MM24.185 & MM24.67 respectively on Gorge Road, approximately 800m East of Cudlee Creek Road. A recent wet winter & fallen trees have caused instability below the road embankment & requires a retaining wall. A concrete footing & 3m concrete block wall must be constructed as at each site. The Contractor may close Gorge Road for the construction of these 2 walls however, the duration of the road closure must be minimised. DPTI require minimum 7 days notice before closing Gorge Road in order to notify local residents.
