PACIFIC HIGHWAY UPGRADE - TINTENBAR TO EWINGSDALE

This type is Roadworks with State ownership. Proposed upgrade of approximately 17 km, starting at Ross Lane in Tintenbar & extending north to the existing Ewingsdale interchange, near the settlement of Ewingsdale. At Ross Lane, the proposed upgrade would connect to the north end of the proposed Ballina bypass. The proposed upgrade includes: Four-lane divided carriageways (2 lanes each way), with a wide median allowing for the future addition of a third lane in each direction. Connection to the northern end of the Ballina bypass at the proposed Ross Lane interchange. A new northbound on-ramp & a new southbound off-ramp would be provided. The remainder of this interchange will be constructed as part of the Ballina bypass project. Upgrading of the existing Ewingsdale interchange to provide full access between the modified local and regional road network & the highway. A half interchange at Ivy Lane. North-facing ramps would provide access between the local road network and the proposed upgraded highway to the north. A half interchange at Bangalow. South-facing ramps would provide access between the local road network, including to Bangalow and Lismore & the proposed upgrade to the south. This arrangement would replicate the arrangement with the existing Bangalow bypass which also has south-facing ramps only. Six twin bridges & 4 underpasses allowing roads and creeks to pass underneath the proposed upgrade. These would include twin bridges above Byron Creek and the existing Casino-Murwillumbah railway on the north side of Byron Creek. Two bridges carrying local roads over the proposed upgrade, one for Broken Head Road and one about 500 m north of Lawlers Lane providing access to several properties east of the upgrade. Protection screens would be provided on both bridges. The existing highway would be retained as a continuous road for local and regional traffic. Twin parallel tunnels under St Helena ridge (one tunnel for each carriageway). The tunnels would each be about 340 m long & about 45 m below St Helena Road. Click for more details...

This type is Railway Sidings with J/V - Private & Govt ownership. Construction of new rail sidings & additional spur lines that would be used to allow an increased number & size of freight trains to access the existing MIST site. The development proposes 2 main areas of work throughout the existing MIST site & along the Main Southern Railway(MSR) alignment. The 1st component relates to work within the existing MIST site. It is proposed to construct an additional siding within the MIST site that would run parallel to the existing siding, between it & the MSR. An additional 2 spur lines & associated points would be constructed on the MIST site to allow for loading, unloading & reconsignment of containers. In total, 4 tracks as well as a turn back area would be located on the MIST site. The 2nd component of the work relates to the construction of the remaining sidings across the neighbouring former timber manufacturing plant & onto the Government owned land adjacent to the MSR. The eastern siding would be an extension of the existing siding presently located at the MIST. A tensioned concrete slab would be constructed adjacent to the points where the rail lines would converge. At the McBarron Creek crossover, a concrete culvert would be constructed to math the existing ground level that would connect with the existing culvert that channels water from the creek under the MSR. Currently at the Construction stage In Bankstown is a project estimated to be $ 50000000. This project Sydney Water is seeking to construct a new field headquarters complex on a portion of the Potts Hill Reservoirs Land. The development will consolidate the Sydney Water Corporation operations on the Reservoirs Land into a 4.36 ha area that forms part of an employment/business park. The proposal consists of a 2 storey 5,914sq m office building; 6,147sq m warehouse with an attached 2 storey office of 349sq m. Demolition of a storage shed. The ground floor level of the office building contains a reception area, office space, meeting rooms, staff meal room and amenities and breakout area. Level 1 of the office area provides an open office plate that wraps around a central atrium area and contains office space and staff amenities. A 2 storey structure located at the southern end of the warehouse provides office and support facilities to the warehouse. Toilets, change rooms and lockers are located on the lower level with a dining facility opening out to the east onto a landscaped area that will accommodate BBQ facilities. On the upper level is open plan office space with meeting rooms at each end of the building and a depot manager's office overlooking the hardstand area. A ramp separates the office from the warehouse and resolves the change in level between the vehicle manoeuvring area to the west and the landscaped outdoor space the east. The proposal incorporates a range of ecologically sustainable development principles in design, construction & operation including improvements in energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality through a high performance building envelope, a highly efficient mechanical system, rainwater harvesting for non-potable water use, and selection of reused and recycled materials. The building has been designed and built to minimise energy consumption and reduce or eliminate greenhouse gas emissions and has the potential to perform 60% better than a conventional office building. The design meets a minimum Green Star Office Design rating of 5 stars and a minimum ABGR rating of 5 stars. The office is constructed of glass and timber with single rectilinear roof form.
