Private ownership Mining - Infrastructure (Tailings, Dams, Water supply dams) project In The Lyell Council Area for New development. The dam is a zoned earth/rock fill embankment, with current height of 42 metres. The planned lift is 5 metres, requiring excavation, movement and placement of approximately 230,000 cubic metres of clay and rock. SCOTIA MINE - TIN/SAPPHIRE RESOURCE
Mining - Infrastructure (Tailings, Dams, Water supply dams) project at 3 Km North via the Cape Portland Rd, Gladstone, TAS 7264 for New. Development comprises mining the Scotia open pit, constructing three tailings dams, one fresh water dam and a gravity processing plant with associated conveyors. Scheduling of pre-mining site works is complete. Development will involve road and bridge upgrading, provision of new heavy vehicle access, dam site construction, commencement of pumping of freshwater to dam storage, treatment plant and site office and workshop infrastructure construction. Road engineering and bridge/culvert design are completed. The Company has already commenced dam wall foundation geotechnical works. With the recent arrival on site of the specialized sapphire conveyors installation of the tin/sapphire clean-up circuit at the Campbell Street facility is underway and completion of the circuit to production standard is scheduled to coincide with the issue of Council permitting. SAVAGE RIVER MAGNETITE OPERATIONS - SOUTH DEPOSIT TAILINGS STORAGE FACILITY
Currently at the Construction stage In Waratah-Wynyard is a project estimated to be $ 28000000. This project Construction of a new Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) in Main Creek south of the existing tailings dam as part of the proposed extension of workings to the South Deposit. To comprise a downstream rock filter face formed from alkaline rock to provide neutralisation of any overflow to Main Creek. Upstream a permanent water reservoir used to store tailings from the Savage River mining operation under water, neutralise historic tailings seepage (B Dump, Old Tailings Dam) & store hydroxide sludges formed by the neutralisation reactions & which will eventually be capped.
