SCENIC RAILWAY

Undertake upgrade works at the top & bottom platforms. The top platform is to be extended in width; the upgrade will include a new roof & profile. A new platform & roof are to be added to the western side of the bottom station. A new section of boardwalk will allow visitors to alight from one side of the train carriages & enter from the others. New carriages are to be installed & the mechanisms for driving the railway will be replaced; this includes a new winch mechanism to be installed in the current workshop; to accommodate this the workshop will be extended. Top station - new platform & viewing area; installation of an elevated ramp along an existing access track. The formalisation of the track will involve constructing new footings for the ramp. Tunnel works will include minor excavation of the tunnel walls, rock bolting, mesh installation & shotcreting.
