For longwall extraction from panels A1 & A2 using a new method of longwall mining known as longwall top caving. For the construction and operation of some additional surface infrastructure including a larger capacity ventilation fan, downcast shaft, substation, nitrogen injection plant, tube bundle shed, and diesel storage and dispatch system, and for the upgrading of some existing surface infrastructure including the water treatment plant, and the water reticulation and pumping system. GLENNIES CREEK COAL OPERATIONS
A project in the NSW Within Singleton. Namoi Hunter has obtained development consent for an underground coal mine located at Glennies Creek near Singleton in the NSW Hunter Valley. The mine is expected to produce from three to four million tonnes ROM per annum of high quality coking coal . The project is currently scheduled for completion by late 2004 is proceeding in three stages. I. Infrastructure development - including ventilation and access facilities. 2. Underground development requiring the acquisition of the following items of capital equipment - longwall mining System, underground conveyors, development, transportation and mobile equipment (including shuttle cars). 66kv power system. 3. LIDDELL POWER STATION - FIBRE OPTIC CABLES
Overhead/Underground Installation Of Fibre Optic Cables project at At, Liddell, NSW 2333 In The Council Area Of Muswellbrook of Private. Work comprises the installation of four fibre optic cables in the areas surrounding the Bayswater and Liddell Power Stations. The four items of work are summarised as follows. Installation, termination and testing of a twenty-four core All Dielectric Self Supporting (ADSS) fibre optic cable between the Bayswater Cooling Water Make-up Pumping Station and the Liddell 33kV Switching Station. Secondly, Installation, termination and testing of a twenty-four core ADSS fibre optic cable between the Liddell 33kV Switching Station and Liddell Power Station Administration Building.Thirdly, Installation, termination and testing of a twenty-four core ADSS fibre optic cable between the River Pumping System Low Pressure Pumping Station (LPPS) and the River Pumping System High Pressure Pumping Station (HPPS). To construct 12 MW waste coal gas power stationcomprising a plant, a gas pipe distribution network and electrical transmission lines. The gas will be sourced from surface head wells draining the gas from an advancing longwall operation and will transported by polyethene pipe to the power station. The 3EXP project to expand capacity of Stage 3 of Kooragang Terminal from 77 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) to a nominal 120 Mtpa. At early 2010 the 2 reclaimers were at the pre-commissioning stage. Expansion of existing Boggarbri open cut coal operations. Upgrade of the coal handling & preparation plant (CHPP) to increase throughput from 1.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) to 2.5Mtpa in 2011 & 4.3Mtpa in 2013. Installation of a new 132kV switchyard/sub-station/overhead power lines. Installation of modular buildings for offices & bathhouse extension. ULAN COAL MINE CONTINUED OPERATIONS PROJECT - ULAN WEST UNDERGROUND
Private ownership Mining - Civil Services (Transmission lines/towers, switching yards, transformers, substations, cabling) project In The Mid Western Regional Council Area for New development. Extension of underground mining operations in a location west of the existing Ulan No 3 underground mine & north of the recently closed open cut pit. To operate for 21 years using the retreat longwall method with a panel width of up to 400m. Access to the Ulan West operations to be via a series of portals to be constructed within the vicinity of the existing open cut pit. New surface facilities to be constructed around the entrance to include ventilation, power & water management facilities & a small temporary coal stockpile. An access ramp will also accommodate an overland conveyor out of the mine. Ancillary facilities to include a steel framed, concrete walled bathhouse along with other demountable buildings for workshops & administration purposes. RAVENSWORTH COAL OPERATIONS EXPANSION - RAVENSWORTH NORTH PROJECT
Operating Mine/S - Expansion project at Lemington Rd, Singleton, NSW 2330 in the Mining - Civil Services (Transmission lines/towers, switching yards, transformers, substations, cabling). A project to create a mining complex incorporating neighbouring open cut & underground operations at Ravensworth West, Narama and Cumnock No 1 Colliery & the surface facilities associated with Ravensworth Underground Mine (RUM) for mining up to 16million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of Run-Of-Mine (ROM) coal over an expected Life-of-mine (LOM) of 29 years. Establishment south of Davis Creek & west of Bayswater Creek of the new Ravensworth North Pit. Open cut operations to continue to involve prestripping, drill & blast overburden removal, coal extraction through blasting or bulldozer, transportation of the ROM coal by truck to stockpiles & then by conveyor to a local power station (Macquarie Generation) or the Ravensworth Coal Terminal (RCT). Expansion of the product coal capacity of the existing northerly Ravensworth Coal Handling & Preparation Plant (RCHPP) & RCT loadout facility to 20Mtpa. A new Raw Coal stockpile with associated conveyor & access bridge over the New England Highway to the RCT. At this coal terminal a new product coal stockpile as well as a water dam. A new rejects bin at the existing centrally located ROM pad along with new conveyor to link to the existing rejects conveyor. Establishment of new workshop & office facilities north of Davis Creek. Realignment of an existing 330kV transmission line & ancillary services. Construction of a mine access road along with realignment of Lemington Road involving a New England Highway intersection upgrade. A new explosives facility. Diversion of Emu Creek. A new main storage dam in the south of the project area with associated drains & pipelines. Expanded out of pit emplacement areas. New Cumnock 3 tailings dam to the south of the existing dams.
