SOUTHERN SYDNEY FREIGHT LINE PROJECT (SSFL) - OVERALL
Rail Line New project In The Bankstown Council Area. Overall Project - Proposes construction of a dedicated single line freight rail line along the corridor of the main south line track for a distance of 30 kilometres. The SSFL will provide a third bi directional track for freight services, which would allow passengers and freight services to operate independently. The new non-electrified track, 30km in length, within a 36km railway corridor, would be located on the western side of the existing RailCorp passenger lines between Macarthur and the junction with the East Hills Line at Glenfield. At Glenfield it would cross over via a new grade-separated interchange, known as the Glenfield flyover, and continue through to Sefton on the eastern and southern side of the passenger lines. This will require construction and/or modification of road and rail bridges, retaining walls and embankments. This project Construction a new South East Livestock Exchange (SELX) on a greenfield site located approximately 2.5 km west of Yass with an annual throughput of approximately 150,000 cattle and 1,330,000 sheep and lambs by 2021. For assessment purposes average sale sizes in the year 2021 have been adopted, that is: cattle sales of 3,005 head; and sheep sales of 25,971 head. Cattle Pavilion will have metal roof with raised skylights, a nominal 200mm soft floor (material such as sawdust) over a 150 mm compacted gravel base is proposed. The SELX is proposed to contain ancillary facilities including a 3 bay truck wash, truck driver ablution building, maintenance shed, patron amenities & agents building. Road construction from Bellevale Rd, connection to Council?s water and sewer mains, power & communication services. Central facilities building includes a site manager?s office, agents? offices, operations/computer room, kitchen, dining room, truck drivers? facilities and toilets. Maintenance shed to provide secure, appropriately labelled facilities for the keeping of small quantities of fuel, herbicide, detergent and paint, as well as equipment and tools, the shed is proposed to be approximately 12m x 9m & located at the southern end of the exchange. Roofing is proposed to minimise effluent generation and reduce demand on Council?s potable supply. Water for livestock and truck washing would be supplied through a combination of rainwater harvesting and recycling of liquid wastes through appropriate treatment systems. The proposed SELX includes a range of ponds for water management. A rainwater pond would allow capture of the runoff from the facility?s roofs and supply a significant proportion of the annual water demand. A new section of boardwalk will allow visitors to alight from one side of the train carriages & enter from the others. Top station - new platform & viewing area; installation of an elevated ramp along an existing access track. The formalisation of the track will involve constructing new footings for the ramp. Civil Works - Rail Profiling project at Railway lines for Gawler &, Seaford, SA 5169 in the Civil Engineering (Yards, Sidings, Loading docks, Railways, Container terminals.). The Principal is responsible for operating & maintaining the Adelaide Metropolitan Rail Network (AMPRN). DPTI has on time running targets & ride quality standards for the AMPRN. This tender is for the provision of profiling services to assist in meeting these targets. Location of Work: The Tenderer will be required to undertake a total of 40km of corrective profiling works which are to occur on the Gawler & Seaford Railway lines. Profiling Requirements: The prospective Tenderer shall provide typical production rates in m/hr for: a) Installation of rail profile with a minimum metal removal of 0.2mm; b) Corrective rail profiling as specified with a metal removal of 100m2. Further, the Tenderer shall provide: 1) The distance (in m) that is required for the ramping into or out for accommodating infrastructure such as level crossings; 2) Time taken to set up & re start machine following stopping; 3) Time required during a typical shift for replacement of cutting/grinding consumables.
