HOMEBUSH RAIL TURNBACK PROJECT
Rail Turnback project at Homebush Railway Station, Homebush, NSW 2140 in the Civil Engineering (Yards, Sidings, Loading docks, Railways, Container terminals.). Proposed construction of a new rail turnback track. The project involves widening the rail corridor, constructing a new platform and track at Homebush Station, and refurbishing an existing building at the station. The development at Homebush Station includes an approx 500m westwards extension to the existing down local track and construction of a new platform (Platform 7) to service the new down local track. The existing local track would be re-configured as a centre track turn back serviced by Platform 6, which would allow all stations City to inner west services to be terminated at Homebush. The project also includes ancillary track work to facilitate connections between the new down local and existing up local tracks plus an extension to the up local track to provide an overun facility that is combined with a new buffer stop. Construction of a new easy access ramp off The Crescent to provide access to the new Platform 7. Extension of Platform 6 by approx 45m at eastern end. Internal modifications to the existing building on Platform 5/6 to provide facilities for RailCorp staff. Removal and construction of approx 100m section of the brick station boundary wall on the Crescent. Pavement repair and service reinstallation works on The Crescent to accommodate up to local 4m widening of the station boundary. Changes to some parking on the northern and southern side of The Crescent. Change to the location of the night bus ride facility, and the provision of a kiss & ride drop off zone. Provision of new lighting and design treatments to the street components around the station entrance to improve the amenity of the station precinct. AUSTEEL STEEL MILL
A project in the NSW Within Port Stephens. Construction of a Steel Mill to produce 4 million tonne per year of steel from the Western Australian Fortescue iron ore deposit. The steel mill complex will include 3 electric arc furnaces, 3 ladle furnaces, 2 thin slab casters, a thick slab caster, a hot strip mill & a hot strip temper mill. As well there is a cold mill complex comprising a pickle line, 2 single standing reversing mills, a galvanising line, a tempermill, batch annealing & an inspection/coil handling & packaging facility. The NSW Government has entered into an agreement to develop a 150ha site for the steel mill & a 25ha site for a port facility & lease them to Austeel on a long term commercial basis. MACARTHUR INTERMODAL SHIPPING TERMINAL (MIST)
Civil Engineering (Yards, Sidings, Loading docks, Railways, Container terminals.) New project at Main Southern Railway & Stonny Batter Rd, Minto, NSW 2566. This type is Railway Sidings with J/V - Private & Govt ownership. Construction of new rail sidings & additional spur lines that would be used to allow an increased number & size of freight trains to access the existing MIST site. The development proposes 2 main areas of work throughout the existing MIST site & along the Main Southern Railway(MSR) alignment. The 1st component relates to work within the existing MIST site. It is proposed to construct an additional siding within the MIST site that would run parallel to the existing siding, between it & the MSR. An additional 2 spur lines & associated points would be constructed on the MIST site to allow for loading, unloading & reconsignment of containers. In total, 4 tracks as well as a turn back area would be located on the MIST site. The 2nd component of the work relates to the construction of the remaining sidings across the neighbouring former timber manufacturing plant & onto the Government owned land adjacent to the MSR. The eastern siding would be an extension of the existing siding presently located at the MIST. A tensioned concrete slab would be constructed adjacent to the points where the rail lines would converge. At the McBarron Creek crossover, a concrete culvert would be constructed to math the existing ground level that would connect with the existing culvert that channels water from the creek under the MSR. SHOALHAVEN STARCHES ETHANOL EXPANSION PROJECT
Shoalhaven Starches Ethanol Expansion Project is currently at the Construction stage, valued at about $ 200000000 it is Expansion of ethanol production facility. The project involves increasing the ethanol production rate of the plant up to 300 million litres a year; implementing a range of odour control measures on site; and upgrading, augmenting and using the existing infrastructure on site. The following additions and alterations are proposed to the existing factory site as part of the ethanol upgrade: the provision of an additional dryer for the starch/gluten plant; additional equipment and storage vessels for the ethanol plant including 3 additional fermenters, additional cooling towers and molecular sieves; upgrades to the Stillage Recovery Plant including 6 additional Dried Distillers Grains Syrup (DDGS) dryers; 10 decanters; chemical storage and two evaporators. The proposal also includes the installation of a DDGS Pellet Plant within this part of the site; & the establishment of a new packing plant, container loading area and a rail spur line. The establishment of this facility on the northern side of Bolong Road will require the provision of an overhead bridge structure to allow product and safe pedestrian movement across Bolong Rd. This project Construction a new South East Livestock Exchange (SELX) on a greenfield site located approximately 2.5 km west of Yass with an annual throughput of approximately 150,000 cattle and 1,330,000 sheep and lambs by 2021. For assessment purposes average sale sizes in the year 2021 have been adopted, that is: cattle sales of 3,005 head; and sheep sales of 25,971 head. Cattle Pavilion will have metal roof with raised skylights, a nominal 200mm soft floor (material such as sawdust) over a 150 mm compacted gravel base is proposed. The SELX is proposed to contain ancillary facilities including a 3 bay truck wash, truck driver ablution building, maintenance shed, patron amenities & agents building. Road construction from Bellevale Rd, connection to Council?s water and sewer mains, power & communication services. Central facilities building includes a site manager?s office, agents? offices, operations/computer room, kitchen, dining room, truck drivers? facilities and toilets. Maintenance shed to provide secure, appropriately labelled facilities for the keeping of small quantities of fuel, herbicide, detergent and paint, as well as equipment and tools, the shed is proposed to be approximately 12m x 9m & located at the southern end of the exchange.
