CIVIC PLACE REDEVELOPMENT

Construction of 4 new public buildings. Facilities include library, concert hall, theatre, multipurpose hall, exhibition/rehearsal spaces,open space, retail/commercial areas & carparking. There will be a 1000 seat, 1629sq m concert hall over 2 levels which will house performances, community & business events. MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER HUB DEVELOPMENT
Entertainment (Drive-in cinemas, ampitheatres) New project at Attree Park, Corryong, VIC 3707. This type is Playground/Landscaping/Soundshell with Local Govt ownership. Construction of the Man from Snowy River Hub located at Attree Park, Corryong to include the erection of the statue/sculpture of Jack Riley and horse (the Man from Snowy River) and redevelopment of the Corryong Visitor Information Centre (VIC), playground, rotunda, sound shell and the surrounds. The statue will be place on a concrete base approximately 1/2 metre high with the statue rising to a height of 2.9m. The base will be surrounded/clad in natural rock and ground cover vegetation. The base will be set off by a new forecourt constructed in exposed local granite concrete from the existing kerb line to the statue and surrounding the natural rock base. There will be access around all sides of the statue and there will be a low rock wall from the back edge of this area extending back to the VIC. The playground will remain where it is but be enhanced with additional play equipment. The rotunda/BBQ will also be enhanced with better weather protection (including roofing and possible partial walls) anc improved seating and landscaping. The sound shell will be enhanced with monor works on the grassed area nad painting of it and other buildings to bring them all together form an aesthetic viewpoint. Water tanks will be installed to catch water from buildings and utilise within the toilets. Entertainment (Theatres, Cinemas) project for New development. Demolition of existing 2 storey building at 478-480 George St. Construction of a 16 storey building to a maximum FSA of 6,359sq m. Use of the new building at 478 George St as an office premises, with basement back-of-house theatre space & 3 levels of retail at ground floor & levels 1 & 2. Demolition of a section of the basement boundary wall between the State Theatre site and 478 George St & extension of the State Theatre stage & back-of-house areas into the new 2 level basement below 478 George St. Internal refurbishment & construction of a new rooftop plant enclosure at the State Theatre Annex (476 George St) & BCA upgrades to the existing State Theatre Annex building. The proposed development seeks approval for the refurbishment of the State Theatre Annex including: conversion of the existing 3 above-ground levels into upgraded retail space; & upgrade to the existing fire stairs at all levels to comply with current BCA standards; & provision of a new rooftop plant enclosure, & removal of the existing facade-mounted air conditioning units. The refurbished Annex building will have an overall floor space area of 362sq m. Scope of works in Stage 1 include & are not limited to: installation of a new Ausgrid wooden pole at the corner of Kent Street for a floodlight outreach arm; commence conduit works for new City of Sydney Street lights across the turning circle in road reserve; adjustment of existing utility services with coordination of Public Utility Authorities; adjustment of Telstra phone booth in coordination with Telstra; demolition of the brick bin store at Abraham Mott building; removal of existing playground equipment, regrade the land & install new play equipment and play areas; regrade the entrance to Harry Jensen and Abraham Mott with new set of stairs; new levels outside the Harry Jensen building; relocate the doctor?s surgery door and make good the internal works; construct a new accessible ramp from Watson Rd; regrade the footpath from Watson Road to the pedestrian crossing at Garrison Church; demolish the brick shelter in Watson Road Reserve and make good the area; install benches; lift, relay, replace & install kerbs; re sheet with A/C the footpath from the pedestrian crossing to Argyle Cut; relocate the power for the Harry Jensen/Abraham Mott building; installation of a new MSB's which will contain separate control panels for streetlights and for the power to the buildings; tree removal, planting & landscaping; stormwater preparation & reinstate water harvesting and in ground sprinklers.
