BONNIEVALE PROJECT
New project of Mining (Open Cut) project at 10km north of, Coolgardie, WA 6429. Retrieval of the tailings and rehabilitation of the site will now be undertaken in-house. Historical gold mining and treatment has resulted in an estimated 10,000 tonnes of tailings being retained on the lease. Approximately half of the tailings are now contained within a vat having been partially leached; the remainder are in 1.5 metres high mounds. auger samples were analysed for gold using an aqua-regia digestion. From this work it is estimated that 4,500 tonnes at 0.7g/t gold is within the vat and 5500 tonnes at 1.3g/t gold remains un-retained in mounds. The bulk sampling was analysed using a cyanide leach method. It returned similar grades to the auger sampling for the tailings in the mounds, however the grades within the vat averaged 0.4g/t gold. HOMESTEAD IRON ORE PROJECT
Mining (Open Cut) project In The Ashburton Council Area of Resource - Iron Ore type. The total Marra Mamba resources in the Homestead project area are estimated at more than 600 Mt, which could support a mining operation at the rate of 20 Mt/a for well over 20 years. Marra Mamba is an ore type which comprises both hematite and goethite. The Nammuldi section of the overall Homestead deposit contains around 280 Mt of ore at 62.3% iron and is projected to be an important component of Hamersley's future production base in the Pilbara. Mining of these deposits is expected to be relatively straightforward. The high water table poses a particular challenge, but the initial hydrogeological studies suggest that the many complications can be adequately managed. Over the next 3 years, up to 7 Mt of ore could be mined from Nammuldi during stage one of the project, although this could be increased if market demand picks up. Stage 1 will involve the provision of bulk samples of Marra Mamba ore to customers for evaluation of its performance as a separate product to Hamersley's blended ore. Due to the proximity to Brockman, the need for additional infrastructure and capital outlay will be minimal. Click for more details...
