OAK PARK PROJECT - GAS RESOURCE
New project of Mining - Civil Services (Pump stations, Above ground reservoirs) project at 19km south of, Bacchus Marsh, VIC 3340. The pilot project comprises five wells into the Maddingley Brown Coal Seam (approx 17 metres thick). Includes four wells 300 metres apart surrounding a central well. Pumping of water from the central well is in progress, with reconfiguration of electrical and mechanical services in progress at the end of the September 2003 quarter to enable simultaneous pumping at optimal rates from each of the five wells. WAROONA MINERAL SANDS PROJECT - RESOURCE

CURTIS ISLAND LNG (QCLNG) PROJECT - LNG PLANT
Currently at the Construction stage In Gladstone Regional is a project estimated to be $ 8000000000. This project QCLNG is a project to develop coal seam gas wells in the Surat & Bowen Basins, pipe gas to a processing plant to be built on Curtis Island & then export product LNG by ship. The LNG plant to have an ultimate capacity of up to 12 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) from 3 LNG trains, each of 3 to 4 Mtpa production capacity. These involve feed gas metering & filtration to remove entrained pipeline debris; gas processing to remove carbon dioxide & other components contained in the gas; gas chilling & drying in a 3-bed molecular sieve system to remove the final traces of water;dry gas processing through activated carbon bed system for mercury removal & gas refrigeration for liquefaction to LNG . The refrigeration systems to be powered by gas turbines equipped with dry low NOx emission systems; heat removal (as part of the liquefaction process) using fin coolers. Onshore LNG storage in tanks including 2 LNG storage tanks up to 200,000cu m for the first 2 trains & a tank of similar size for the third train; 1 butane storage tank up to 100,000cu m (including vapour recovery system) for imported butane required for spiking LNG product to meet a required high heating value (HHV) along with ancillary equipment & infrastructure including flares. Storage of refrigerant as well diesel fuel, lube oil etc. Associated infrastructure to include fuel gas systems; effluent treatment & outfall for treated wastewater, power generation/distribution; fire protection systems; water systems including seawater desalination plant for process & potable water supply. Additional buildings to include compressor control building, analyser shelter, maintenance buildings, offices and staff amenities building. A temporary pioneer construction camp to accommodate 100-300 people expected to be built within the LNG facility area before early site preparation activities for the first LNG train. This camp will be replaced by a larger construction camp on Curtis Island and/or on the mainland during the LNG Facility construction to house a workforce of 3000 approx people. The construction camp expected to include necessary amenities such as a dining hall & kitchen, a primary health care facility & recreation centre. MILLENNIUM COAL OPERATIONS EXPANSION
via Peak Downs Hwy 16km southwest of, Coppabella, QLD 4741 Has Millennium Coal Operations Expansion currently at Construction stage. A project to expand the 2million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) operations to 5.5Mtpa Run-of-Mine (ROM) coal for 3.6Mtpa product coal for up to 16 years. RAVENSWORTH COAL OPERATIONS EXPANSION - RAVENSWORTH NORTH PROJECT
Operating Mine/S - Expansion project at Lemington Rd, Singleton, NSW 2330 in the Mining - Civil Services (Transmission lines/towers, switching yards, transformers, substations, cabling). A project to create a mining complex incorporating neighbouring open cut & underground operations at Ravensworth West, Narama and Cumnock No 1 Colliery & the surface facilities associated with Ravensworth Underground Mine (RUM) for mining up to 16million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of Run-Of-Mine (ROM) coal over an expected Life-of-mine (LOM) of 29 years. Establishment south of Davis Creek & west of Bayswater Creek of the new Ravensworth North Pit. Open cut operations to continue to involve prestripping, drill & blast overburden removal, coal extraction through blasting or bulldozer, transportation of the ROM coal by truck to stockpiles & then by conveyor to a local power station (Macquarie Generation) or the Ravensworth Coal Terminal (RCT). Expansion of the product coal capacity of the existing northerly Ravensworth Coal Handling & Preparation Plant (RCHPP) & RCT loadout facility to 20Mtpa. A new Raw Coal stockpile with associated conveyor & access bridge over the New England Highway to the RCT. At this coal terminal a new product coal stockpile as well as a water dam. A new rejects bin at the existing centrally located ROM pad along with new conveyor to link to the existing rejects conveyor. Establishment of new workshop & office facilities north of Davis Creek. ROY HILL IRON ORE PROJECT - INFRASTRUCTURE - NORTHERN RAIL
Mining - Civil Services (Power stations, Power generation) project In The Port Hedland Council Area of Private ownership. It is proposed to develop a railway of approximately 320km to transport iron ore from the Roy Hill 1 mine to facilities at Port Hedland and the proposed Boodarie multiuser stockyard area which is to be vested in the PHPA (Port Hedland Port Authority). The railway proposal includes: a marshalling yard (with associated workshops and maintenance facilities storage and laydown areas, rail welding yard), passing loops and sidings, construction water bores and 'turkeys nest' dams, borrow and ballast areas for construction material, communications cable, towers and signalling system, construciton works accommodation camps and amenities for workers, access roads and construction power supplies. Five train sets will be required to transport 55 Mtpa, with each train consisting of two diesel electric locomotives and 232 iron ore wagons. When spares are included, this will entail a fleet of 17 locomotives and 1790 wagons. Fuel supply trains will require one additional AC locomotive and 12 tanker cars. An unsealed, at-grade access road will run adjacent to and generally parallel to the proposed railway for its entire length, for the purposes of railway access and maintenance. The road pavement width will be approximately 9m wide. Seven sidings are expected to be required along the entire length of the railway to allow trains travelling in opposite directions to pass. Additional sidings called "back-tracks" will be provided on the back to eh passing sidings along the alignment as required to allow removal of 'bad-order' wagons (mechanical fault). Road crossings will be at grade or grade separated in accordance with the requirements of Main Roads of Western Australia. Level crossings on access roads will be protected with signs that comply with this standard. To preserve current land uses in a way that is compatible with the proposed railway, fencing and/or controls will need to be installed at occupational rail crossings, vehicle the paths, livestock grids and in other areas where access requires controlling or restricting. Watercourses crossings will consist of culverts or bridges. Culverts will be used in preference to bridges. For bridges, to provide a simple and efficient method of construction, the design of the rail bridges will be standardised for fast construction requiring a minimum quantity of in situ concrete. The span length proposed is 25m. The construction methodology will be to at 25m intervals drive circular steel pier columns as a "trestle" consisting of three members with the two outer members raking and the central pier column vertical. A heavy hardstand granular pavement is required for installation of piled substructure over the full length of each bridge primarily to provide safe, stable access for heavy plant and equipment. The width of the hardstand on both the upstream and downstream sides of the piers will be approximately 20m, ie a total fo 40m wide. Hardstand will remain in service until superstructure units are placed by heavy cranage. Prefabricated steel headstocks will be lifted into place by a crane and site welded to the pier columns. Decks will consist of prefabricated composite girders or steel through girder construction. The marshalling yard will be adjacent to the main line and will incorporate 10 rail tracks. The site is expected to accommodate a rolling-stock workshop and washdown bay, locomotive provisioning hall, rail infrastructure yard, diesel fuel storage, electrical substation, communications tower, administration building, car parks, potable and wastewater treatment units and fire-water storage and access roads. The rolling stock workshop will be a single storey building with a heavy duty concrete slab, overhead travelling cranes, high pressure water wash-down facilities and various pieces of maintenance equipment including a wheel lathe to service and m Click for more details...
