GLENNIES CREEK COAL OPERATIONS
A project in the NSW Within Singleton. Namoi Hunter has obtained development consent for an underground coal mine located at Glennies Creek near Singleton in the NSW Hunter Valley. The mine is expected to produce from three to four million tonnes ROM per annum of high quality coking coal . The project is currently scheduled for completion by late 2004 is proceeding in three stages. I. Infrastructure development - including ventilation and access facilities. 2. NARRABRI GAS FIRED POWER STATION
Private ownership Mining - Civil Services (Power stations, Power generation) project In The Narrabri Council Area for New development. Development comprises the construction and operation of a coal seam methane gas fired power station with an initial capacity of 30 MW, progressing towards 500 MW depending on the availability of methane gas and demand. Other components of the project will be a transmission line, Gunnedah Gas Project and a pipeline. The first stage will be a power station that will comprise 10 x 3 MW reciprocating engines or similar and be connected to the Country Energy electricity grid. Part of the first stage will be a 172 MW power station comprising a GT13 open cycle gas turbine power station. The second stage of the project will be the escalation of the power station to 500 MW. The power station can be increased to 250 MW by adding a waste heat boiler and to 500 MW by adding a second 172 MW gas turbine unit. The construction of a 180 km 330 KV transmission line will undertaken between Narrabri and Tamworth if the power station increases beyond 172 MW. Gas will be sourced from the Gunnedah Gas Project (PEL 450) where 50-100 development wells will be developed. Gas will be collected through a surface gathering system and delivered via a buried steel pipeline to the power station. The pipeline component of the project will involve the construction of 720 km's of buried pipeline. The first part will be a 400 km pipeline from Goondawindi to Narrabri, a 200 Km pipeline from Narrabri through PEL 450 to the Central Ranges Pipeline near Coolah, a 120 Km pipeline from Coolah to a new power station near the existing Bayswater or Liddell power stations in the Hunter Valley. DRAYTON COAL OPERATIONS EXTENSION PROJECT
Mining - Civil Services (Water distribution & pipelines, borefields) project for New development. Mining of an additional resource of 30 million tonnes from the Greta Coal Measures (targeting the Rowan formation) at a rate of up to 8 Mtpa to extend the mine life to 2017. The extension of mining will predominantly progress to the South of current operations; however, additional areas within the North and East of the project area are also proposed to be mined. The project will require some additional items of equipment to accommodate an increased rate of production such as: 1 x excavator, 3 x track dozers, 5 x 280 tonne rear dump trucks, 1 x additional drill, grader and watercart, plus other minor ancillary equipment. The existing Coal Handling Plant (CHP) & associated stockpile reclamation system will be upgraded in order to align the facilities with the proposed increase in annual production. A new 80 000 tonnes product coal stockpile & a 40 000 tonne domestic product coal stockpile are proposed to further assist production efficiencies. Minor changes to Drayton's water management system are also proposed to maximise water management & use at the mine. Drayton will continue to utilise dragline, excavators, loaders and a fleet of trucks to both uncover the coal & transport it to on-site processing and load-out facilities. Blasting will continue to be required to assist with overburden & coal extraction. Drayton will continue to utilise existing infrastructure such as administration offices, workshops, parking facilities, conveyors, coal handling facilities and coal stockpiles. Expansion of the product coal capacity of the existing northerly Ravensworth Coal Handling & Preparation Plant (RCHPP) & RCT loadout facility to 20Mtpa. Continued open cut operations accessing 14.2 million tonnes (Mt) at a rate of 2Mt product coal annually. Construction of a new mine industrial area to include a 600tph crushing & screening plant, 100,000t run-of-mine (ROM) stockpile, 200,000t product stockpiles & maintenance facilities. Construction or relocation of offices, amenities, workshop, water management infrastructure, electric power supply, explosives magazine & fuel storage area. LIDDELL COAL OPERATIONS EXPANSION

A project for a 5 year life-of-mine (LoM) extension by expanding the existing South pit followed by expansion of the Entrance pit after which a new MIA pit to be developed involving relocation of the current mine infrastructure area. Construction of a new conveyor & transfer point to link to the existing overland conveyor to allow transfer of up to 1.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of coal to the Ravensworth coal handling & preparation plant (CHPP) now that the demolished Cumnock CHPP is no longer available to take excess run-of-mine (ROM) coal. A new 50,000t stockpile at the new conveyor & expansion of the existing ROM stockpile capacity to 200,000t as well as a new tailings emplacement area in the South Pit void.
