List of Mining - Civil Services Projects in SA
CAIRN HILL MAGNETITE COPPER GOLD PROJECT
Resource - Copper/Gold/Magnetite project at Stuart Highway 55 Km South East of, Coober Pedy, SA 5723 in the Mining - Civil Services (Rail loops, Track work, Signalling, Rolling stock, Switching yards). Resource of 10.5million tonnes indicated & 4.2million tonnes inferred of ore @ 51.9% Fe, 0.4% Cu, 0.12g/t Au. Phase 1 of the mine operations to consist of 2 open pits located to extract the northern and southern mineralisations. The project will initially involve a trial mining operation to remove and crush 20 000 tonnes of ore in order to refine engineering parameters. The main mining operation will then involve mining of an estimated 7.3 million tonnes of reserves in the western portion of the ML area, using open pit techniques. The project will involve on-site crushing with direct export of ore for processing. The ore will be transported in bulk by road to a proposed new rail siding (the Mast) and then by rail to Darwin for export by ship. Facilities at the site will include a mobile crushing plant, two waste rock dumps, diesel power plant and reverse osmosis plant. Associated infrastructure will include a water supply borefield and a site access/haulage road to the proposed rail siding. Phase 2 will target low copper & sulphur magnetite deposits immediately to the east of Phase 1 activity. Phase 3 involves expansion further east again. Detailed aeromagnetic surveys have identified targets for drilling to identify these easterly deposits. It is hoped these will come into operation when additional port capacity becomes available at Port Bonython or Darwin, leading to operations expanding up to 5Mtpa.

CHALLENGER GOLD OPERATIONS
Private ownership Mining - Civil Services (Water distribution & pipelines, borefields) project In The Roxby Downs Council Area for New development. The first gold bar at the Challenger Gold project was poured on 12 October during the commissioning process with the first shipment of gold bullion, expected to total 750 ounces, scheduled for 24 October. Ramp-up to full production levels is expected by the end of October. The initial open pit will recover 105,000 ounces of gold over a 20 month operating period from the start-up in October 2002 with head grades expected to average 5.9 g/t.

PROMINENT HILL GOLD COPPER PROJECT - TRANSMISSION LINE/SUBSTATION
A project in the SA Within Coober Pedy. Construction will comprise the building of a 164 km 132 kV transmission line and substation at the mine site. The power line will comprise approx 500 towers x 26 metre height pre-constructed of galvinised steel poles or lattice. Towers will take approx two days to construct on site. About 50,000 metres of service track will be constructed to service the transmission line. A substation and associated switchyard will be constructed at the mine site and will have a land area of 1 Hectare. The annual consumption of the mine and association infrastructure will be 211.1 GWh per annum.

MIDDLEBACK RANGE OPERATIONS - PROJECT MAGNET PHASE 2
New project of Mining - Civil Services (Rail loops, Track work, Signalling, Rolling stock, Switching yards) project at via Lincoln Hwy 55km south of, Whyalla, SA 5600. Extension of OneSteel's current mining & export operations through the North SMR (Southern Middleback Range) Development project. Construction in an area between existing rail corridor & mine pit on MPL51 of a new train loading facility serviced by a mobile crushing plant. To include a new rail spur line & siding & a short interconnecting haul road to the Iron Knight pit. Expansion over second half of 2009 of the existing Iron Knight mine pit by further cutting back & increase of associated waste rock dump areas. Construction around 2011/2012 of the new Iron Chieftain pit to the east of Iron Knight. Construction afterwards of a new haul road between the two pits.

PEL 91 COOPER BASIN JOINT VENTURE OIL PROJECT - BAUER FIELD
A project in the SA Within Unincorporated. A project thought to have recoverable reserves of 3.5 million barrels (MMbbl) making it one of the largest discoveries on the Western Flank Oil Fairway. The Bauer-1 well which encountered an oil column followed up with 3 appraisal well including the Bauer-3 well which was cased & suspended as a future production well. Initial surface production facilities expected to include gathering pipelines, dewatering & evaporation facilities, oil storage & crude load-out facilities. Lift pumping units to be installed subsequently as required to increase production. Initial production of 800 bbls per day expected to increase to 5000bbls a day. Initial oil transport by truck to the Moomba Crude Oil terminal until an export pipeline from the Bauer Facility to Lycium oil hub is constructed.
