ALCAN GOVE BAUXITE OPERATIONS - REFINERY EXPANSION - INFRASTRUCTURE
Mining - Primary And Secondary Processing (Minerals Processing) New project at Gove Peninsula, North West Arnhem Land via, Nhulunbuy, NT 0880. This type is Infrastructure with Private ownership. Refinery expansion will increase production from a current 2 Mt/y to 3.8Mt/y in 2007. All new process areas will be concrete bunded with sumps installed. Stormwater drainage and utilities will be extended to all new areas and facilities. The existing sewerage treatment facility will be upgraded by the addition of seperate reticulation and package sewerage plants. Proposed expansion includes stockpiling and handling. Bauxite will not be exported from Gove anymore but will be directed to the refinery. Stockpile sizes will remain the same, but stacker and feed conveyor systems will be upgraded or replaced and the refinery reclaimer will also be replaced. Three new grinding mills will be installed to replace the old rod and ball mills. One new mill slurry tank and pump transfer system together with one train of indirect mill slurry equipment will be installed. The heated feed will now be processed in a new high temperature double digestion process. A third low temperature digestion plant will be installed, as well as deep-cone thickners and high pressure pumps. The mud and liquor residue will be seperated in pressure decanters and processed through a train of new high rate washers and a single train of five deep cone thickners. The existing washers and thickners will be used for storage of residue liquids. Some will be demolished. Six new vertical pressure filters will be installed in a new security filtation area to process most of the turbid liquor flow from the thickners. Agglomeration precipitators and growth precipitators will be added to increase capacity as well as two interstage cooling facilities will be installed on each growth precipitator train. Flash vessels and a barometric condenser will be installed using cooling water from new cooling towers. A new hydrocyclone classification system with three classification stages allowing three different sized hydrate streams to be produced will be installed. A new filtration area and equipment will be installed to conduct filtration of various hydrate streams. Equipment will include six drum filters, vacum pumps and air blowers. Three new stationary calciners will be installed in conjunction with new hydrate conveyors and upgraded aluminia transfer systems. A new evaporation plant will be installed as well as cooling towers for vapour removal in the last three flash stages. Lime plant capacity will be increased from 140 t/h to 200 t/h by installing a new burner system and modifying the kiln's internal geometry. A new burnt lime storage silo will be installed. The existing power station will be converted from fuel oil to gas that will involve a new boiler and associated turbine units. The neutralisation plant will include a mixing tank and two thickners in a bunded area. New liquor purification plant will be constructed involving two seperate plants for the mixing and drying stage. Click for more details...

The plant is in good condition and located at Mount Pleasant, near Kalgoorlie (683365Big Bell), approx 300 km from the mine site. The specifications will be incorporated into the bankable feasibility study. A greater throughput of 2.5mtpa is being modelled. ROSEBY COPPER PROJECT - PROCESSING FACILITY
New project of Mining - Primary And Secondary Processing (Civil works at processing facilities) project at North west of, Cloncurry, QLD 4824. The process plant is to be located immediately adjacent the Blackard Pit. The basic processes include: primary crushing, comprising feed bin, apron feeder, crusher and dust suppression, grinding in a single stage SAG mill and classification in cyclones, optional stockpiling of primary crushed or to de-couple the grinding and flotation processes for the crushing operations, rougher and scavenger flotations, rougher concentrate regrinding to improve final concentrate grade, two stages of cleaner flotation, concentrate thickening and filtration and filter cake storage before transportation, tailings thickening and disposal storage facility and reagents preparation and services. The process plant has been designed to treat approximately 3 Mtpa of sulphide feed, as this will be the case for the initial 4 years of production. Following this, the processing plant may require adaptation to process oxide ores, as the style of ore mineralisation vary. These throughputs are based on a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week operations. The flotation concentrate would be saleable for smelter feed. The proposed process plant comprises the following: Run of Mine (ROM) ore bin fed by either a front end loader or by trucks direct tipping ore, grizzly feeder to remove fines less than 150mm, conveyor feeding combined grizzly and crusher products to the mill, a SAG mill with single 3 MW drives, a ball miss with single 3MW drive, two sets of rougher/scavenger flotation cells (2x7x160 cubic metres), concentrate regrind mill with 550kW drive, cleaner flotation cells (6x50 cubic metres cells), recleaner flotation (4x20 cubic metres cells), concentrate thickening and filtration, reagents, air and water services and pumps, service cranes and hoists. BROKEN HILL SEPARATION PLANT UPGRADE

ROY HILL IRON ORE PROJECT - PKG 1 MINE PROCESS PLANT
Mining - Primary And Secondary Processing (Minerals Processing) project In The East Pilbara Council Area of Mine Process Plant - Package 1 type. The processing plant is designed to produce 55Mtpa (wet) of lump & fines product and will be the largest single feed processing plant in the Pilbara region. A wet processing & beneficiating model has been selected, as approx 70% of the bedded resource is below the water table & containes wet, sticky plastic clay-rich shale bands, which would be difficult to handle in a dry crushing & screening process. Lump ores produced from the processing plant will range in size from 8mm to 40mm, while fines ores produced witll be less than 8mm in size. The processing plant will include the following components: Three remote primary/secondary crushing stations; Overland conveying; Crushed ore stockpile; Wet scrubbing & screening; Tertiary crushing; Product screening; De-sanding; Sampling; Stockyard Stacking; Reclaim & train loadout & Tailings storage facilities. The three primary & secondary crushing stations will each convert 5,000 tonnes of ore an hour into particles less than 150mm. This material is then conveyed to a surge stockpile prior to eing fed into the processing plant. When the ore is fed into the processing plant it enters the scrubbers, before being sent to wet screening. Oversize ore that is greater than 32mm in size is then conveyed to the tertiary crushers. Ore that is less than 32mm, but greater than 8mm is conveyed to the lump stockpile, while ore that is less than 8mm, but greater than 2 is conveyed to the fines stockpile.
