LIDDELL COAL COLLIERY - RESOURCE
Mine - Coal New project In The Singleton Council Area. Existing operation produces 4.5 Mtpa of Rom coal and the CHPP processes 700 tonnes per hour. A proposal has been approved to increase ROM coal production to 8 Mtpa. Associated development will comprise the construction of a new Coal Handling Plant, establishment of a new supplementary stockpile with capacity of 450,000 tonnes, alter the planned 1500 ML Dam 13B footprint, construct a bridge over the main Northern Railway to improve transport between existing coal pits, alter an access road to the CHPP, relocation of offices, workshop and storage area and an associated access road, and the construction of a desalination unit within the CHPP area for the treatment of mine water. The proposal is for the conservation and refurbishment of Railway House, the works include, conversion of the ground floor office area at the southern end of the building for retail purposes with a new York Street entrance and awning, relocation of the ground floor facade elements from the above opening to the northern most bay to replace elements removed in 1973, reconstruction of the original main entrance with new doors set back from the facade, conservation of the terracotta facade and bronze windows, installation of a sprinkler system, demolition of lavatories and duct behind the lift shafts for construction of new corridor, fire stair, duct lavatories. BROKEN HILL SEPARATION PLANT UPGRADE
Currently at the Planning stage In Broken Hill is a project estimated to be $ 36000000. This project The upgrade of the separation plant is proposed to take into account the development of the nearby Snapper project. Upgrades will be undertaken for the plant itself and associated infrastructure. The plant upgrades planned are the additions of a rutile circuit and a zircon circuit. An option to locate a Wet High Intensity Magnetic Separator circuit from the mine site is also proposed. These addition will production to increase from 576,000 tpa to 650,000 tpa. The rutile, ilmenite and zircon circuit feed and rejects stockpiles will all be expanded. The non-magnetic concentrate heavy mineral concentrate receival area will also be expanded. Operating Mine/S - Expansion project at Lemington Rd, Singleton, NSW 2330 in the Mining - Support Facilities (Industrial buildings). A project to create a mining complex incorporating neighbouring open cut & underground operations at Ravensworth West, Narama and Cumnock No 1 Colliery & the surface facilities associated with Ravensworth Underground Mine (RUM) for mining up to 16million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of Run-Of-Mine (ROM) coal over an expected Life-of-mine (LOM) of 29 years. Establishment south of Davis Creek & west of Bayswater Creek of the new Ravensworth North Pit. Open cut operations to continue to involve prestripping, drill & blast overburden removal, coal extraction through blasting or bulldozer, transportation of the ROM coal by truck to stockpiles & then by conveyor to a local power station (Macquarie Generation) or the Ravensworth Coal Terminal (RCT). Expansion of the product coal capacity of the existing northerly Ravensworth Coal Handling & Preparation Plant (RCHPP) & RCT loadout facility to 20Mtpa. A new Raw Coal stockpile with associated conveyor & access bridge over the New England Highway to the RCT. At this coal terminal a new product coal stockpile as well as a water dam. A new rejects bin at the existing centrally located ROM pad along with new conveyor to link to the existing rejects conveyor. Establishment of new workshop & office facilities north of Davis Creek. A new 50,000t stockpile at the new conveyor & expansion of the existing ROM stockpile capacity to 200,000t as well as a new tailings emplacement area in the South Pit void.
