Stage 3 final stage of redevelopment of the Western Grandstand, overall seating capacity of the Western Grandstand 12,500, spectators will enter the stadium via new ticketing/turnstile/corporate entry zone forming a part of stage 3 works, spectators move up from the ground level via wide stairways to the lower concourse level, alternate vertical access is provided by lifts which service all levels of the grandstand, large goods/pedestrian lift at each end and 2 passenger lifts at the corporate entry foyer. Majority of the ground concourse level, beyond the ticketing area offers player facilities, multi-purpose spaces and servicing areas which marry with stage 1 & 2 works. The Lower Concourse level consists of a wide concourse through which spectators move to access tiered seating areas, amenities blocks, food and beverage outlets, first aid rooms and merchandising outlets, stairways are evenly distributed along the length of the concourse. Corporate level consists of corporate boxes, function areas, kitchen and bar facilities, amenities and the Hunter Region sporting venues authority offices and boardroom, accessed via corporate entry lifts and stairs, and other stairways throughout the grandstand. Construction of a new mixed use retail, commercial & residential building GFA 66,698sq m on Block 2, within 2 towers (One Central Park East, 34 storeys & One Central Park West, 17 storeys), accommodating residential floor space comprising 622 residential apartments, 99 x studio, 262 x 1, 233 x 2 & 28 x 3 bedroom; 15,481sq m retail floor space comprising a food court, specialty retail & a supermarket. Construction of terraces (landscaped platforms) which rise from the plaza to the podium level 2 of the new building on Block 2; Installation of a heliostat (consisting of mirrors which are orientated to focus sunlight onto the landscaped platforms); construction of the surrounding public domain; & stratum subdivision. Podium will rise to a height of 4 storeys, with central atrium area, at the bottom of the atrium will be a planted area with a walkway running through, a glass roof will enclose the atrium space. A datum line relating to the height of the heritage gate has been incorporated into the podium. Two residential lobbies are proposed on the eastern side of the podium, the remainder of the ground & first floor will comprise specialty retail, on level 2 a food court is proposed. On the third level of the podium a gym & commercial office space is proposed. On the fourth level of the podium will be retail space. On the roof of the podium (Level 5) will be two separate residential recreational areas. Within the basement level of the building will be a supermarket. The eastern tower will contain 240 apartments & western tower 382 apartments. At ground & first floor level specialty retail spaces & a restaurant are proposed, the retail spaces vary between 45sq m & 220sq m in size and are capable of being amalgamated into larger stores. The restaurant is approximately 1,100sq m. A 3,900sq m food court is proposed which will occupy level 2, with 9 kiosks ranging between 30sq m & 40sq m. A series of landscaped platforms will rise from the northern edge of Main Park up to the level 2 food court. The platforms will be of concrete construction finished with timber decking & granite with voids lined with safety balustrades. A scenic lift will be installed within the platforms. ESD features include naturally & mechanically ventilated building, double glazing, blackwater treatment plant, green walls, tri-generation plant, chilled water reticulation. External materials & finishes comprise full height glazing & sliding system, vegetal walls combined with planter cables, perforated metal panels, winter garden enclosure: slide & turn full height glass panel system, roof gardens.
